bleeng (587), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA Dec 14, 2007 2007 version in 12 oz bottle. This was one of my first initiations into the IPA’s-at that time this was a strong beer by it’s standards. A bit different today! Pours dark copper witha thick, small head. The "SN" nose is very evident. Mouth is full, foamy, carbonated. Taste is a hop bomb and bitter. Finish fades gradually and the flavors stay throughout. This will age nicely for 1 year. As usual a nice beer and a good addition to the winter stash. smackie (45), St. Augustine, Florida, USA Dec 14, 2007 I’m rating this way too high since it’s not my favorite beer. Competes with Arrogant Bastard Ale. Very hoppy, yummy. I like Christmas elelwarren (138), SF Bay area, California, USA Dec 14, 2007 Updated: Dec 18, 2007Amber pour with dissipating head. Light odor of plums. Moderately malty at first becoming sharply dry. Hops are in the beautiful West Coast Pale Ale style, but not overly resinous. Well balanced, almost as good a bitter as I have tasted. Warming at 6.8%! SirSlarty (68), Reading, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 13, 2007 2007. Smells like peaches. A Pale ale with spices. Feels fizzy in the mouth but with a low head. Light copper in color. Not much else to it. IPA’s are not my favorite. BMan1113VR (2758), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Dec 13, 2007 Updated: Nov 2, 20082008 bottle, strong citrus and pine hop aroma. Clear bronze body with a light brown head that leaves stellar lacing.... Strong SN pale ale hop profile strengthened to an IPA...
Lightly fizzy, dryish mouth...good seasonal beer...
2007 edition. Poors a nice, slightly cloudy amber-brown color. Small, frothy, off-white head that diminishes quickly like most Sierra Nevada products that I have had in the past. Aroma is very pleasent with hopps and grapefruit and a molasses undertone. Also smell a little hint of apple. Flavor starts sweet and then goes to the bitter IPA taste that you either love or hate. The finish lasts a long long time. The feel of the beer was a bit of a disapointment. Felt very dry with sharp carbonation, the finish metallicy. Good beer if you like Sierra style PA’s. MegansdadMP (1), Edgewater Park, New Jersey, USA does not count Dec 12, 2007 If you enjoy Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, this seasonal ale is similar with some added flavors. jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA Dec 12, 2007 12oz fresh, nice IPA, not really sure what more to say, tastes like an ipa, looks like an ipa, smells like ipa, is ipa, this one is great during winter months. jobyone (234), Charlotte, USA Dec 12, 2007 Draft. Pours Golden brown with small off white head. The aroma has notes of fruit and some spices. The flavor repeats this along with some definate hoppiness. Slightly thin finish.
