4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 VTHopHead (1331) - Barre, USA - FEB 16, 2004
UPDATED: NOV 13, 2011 11/13/11 Update - Pours a darkish amber in orange color with a very small white head and little carbonation. Hop aroma is intense... grassy and citrus with just enough malt understructure to provide some minor balance. Flavor is hoppy and quite bitter with plenty of citrus/pine hop flavor. Awesome! 12/25/06 Update- Dark orange amber in color with a foamy white head. Intense hop aroma... full of citrus and pine. Flavor is quite hoppy, but some malt supporting structure. Nicely bitter on the finish. Original Rating on 6/13/04 - Dark amber with a sparse white head. Aroma is of hops ... citrus/pine. Flavor is citrus/grapefruit with a spicy bitterness that I crave. This is a really good beer. Can’t wait until next year!

Amber, quite large head. Much citrus aroma and some sweetness. Rather bitter, well balanced with the malt. Equally good as last year.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Sizzler80 (85) - Dublin, IRELAND - FEB 8, 2012
Creamy amber pour with decent off-white head. Aromas of citrus fruit, hops, pine, grass, caramel and more hops. Its bitter sweet with a multitude of flavours. Medium carbonation. For me it’s the pick of the Sierra Nevada bunch thus far. An absolute belter!

Aroma - very floral, fruity, heavy sweetness;
Appearance - copper, slightly hazy, fluffy head, excellent lacing;
Taste - balanced front, intense hop back, finish has a lingering bitterness;
Palate - overbearingly crisp, nice body;
Overall - good brew, pretty much what you’d expect from Sierra Nevada, flavor was somewhat masked by the crisp profile though.

Bottle. Pours amber with a medium sized frothy white head. Juicy hop aroma. Good lacing. Flavor is bitter, but offset by sweet caramel maltiness. Mouthfeel is bitter, but balanced. Love the wet hops. I relly like this style of IPA. Very nicely done

Doftar tallskog och citrus och lite örter. Trevlig IPA med bra beska. Slutsats: Bra..men klassar man denna som julöl?

Half pint at Sheffield Tap. Slightly opaque with a nice but short lived head. Nice light fruity hop aroma, very American. Hoppy, with a dry finish but not too harsh. Its a nice drop, but as with a lot of amber/ipa beers its a bit of a one trick pony.
