Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale represents a time honored tradition of brewing a special beer for the holiday season. There are generous portions of barley malts and fine whole hops of several varieties, creating a brew with a full, rich and hearty character.

Lots of people are liking this but itís personally my least favorite celebration Iíve had so far (2011 was my favorite). That being said, itís still a good beer. Much grassier aroma than usual and it follows through on the taste. Not as citruisy and piney as it has been in the past, mostly grass. Base beer is awesome as always but these fresh hops arenít my favorite.

Sweet and soapy. Citrusy hops but a bit like dishwasher orange soap stuff.

Bottled 10/10/14. Pours golden pale color with a huge frothy beige head that lingers. Aroma is big bold hops, Lemon, orange, just tons of citrus. Little bit of malt backbone. Flavor is hop-forward, orange sweetness. mango, grapefruit. Very tasty, with a just slight maltiness. Itís definitely a hoppy IPA but it isnít overpowering. Good flavor, fresh. Really good IPA that.

I think the beer from North Carolina tastes different than from California. This beer was good. Now it tastes like soap. Anyway Aroma is soapy. Oily. Watery. Little hops, Looks good reddish orange. Tastes oily. Orange. Lemon. Hops are dull. Palate is watery. Pretty smooth tho. Medium body. Overall where did the hops go? Why do all Sierra Nevada beers smell and taste like soap now? Nope. Something is amiss

Itís about damn time I had Celebration Ale. Iíve only been wanting this ale for two years or so. The wait is over, and I must say, it was worth it. Appearance is what Iíve come to expect from Sierra Nevadaís hoppy ales: heady and burnt orange. Smell and taste are fresh hop-forward. Pine, grapefruit, and some grassy notes dominate the aroma. Taste has more of the same with some herbal and spicy tones thrown in for extra goodness. THIS is a winter ale. Exotic spices be damned. Hops prevail. A holiday IPA is a real reason to celebrate.

pours a rich copper with a thick and persistent tan head. Aroma is citrus and floral hops. Taste is good bitter with a hint of spice. Long bitter hoppy finish with good nasal linger. A very solid IPA.

12 oz bottle from Niagara Falls Wegmans. Pours a clear orangey copper colour with moderate-sized off-white head. Aroma is pine/cedar with a little citrus and some fruity malt. Flavour has nice piney hoppiness with some subtle citric notes and a solid bready/fruity maltiness, as well as some spiciness in the finish. Medium-full body. Quite good.

Bottle. A- Citrus, pine, bready, hoppy. A- Copper color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Citrus, piney, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet bitter finish. O- Not what I expect from a holiday beer. However, that shouldnít detract from the fact that this is a solid IPA. Lots of pine and citrus going on and very well balanced, especially considering as a California IPA it has all the rights to be super aggressive and it is not.

A good clean, crisp and hoppy IPA. One of the best available in the winter months. Not world class but more than adequate for my favorite beer time of year in the winter when you need a break from the amazing bourbon stouts that are released this time of year.
