UPDATED: JAN 1, 2013 From 12 oz bottle, 2012 fresh hop vintage. A definite new holiday favorite. Refreshing hop profile and great aroma. Also had 2007 vintage on draught at Apex 1/1/13. Good smoothing oxidation on the aged version. Up it to 4.4

Bottle. Bronze color with thick off-white head; substantial lacing. Pine and resin aroma. Malt and bitterness upfront with resiny hop finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a bright copper color. A good 2 inches of head that sticks around almost until you finish your beer. Tropical fruit aromas. Tastes of fruit, chestnut honey and caramel. Quite complex. A little too bitter though. Overall a yummy beer to have with a cheese plate and apples.

Keg in the Curlerís Rest. Pours amber, nose is pine and toffee, taste is crisp, cold, bitter. Not terribly impressed with the pub - poor service.

Appearance: Pours a pretty clear amber/copper color with a medium off white head. Tons of tiny bubbles stream to the surface. Very pretty beer. Good head retention with a nice amount of lacing. Smell: Grapefruit, rubber bands, soap. Not getting much malt. A touch of alcohol smell but no means strong. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with lots of tingly bubbles. Taste: Upfront this is all hops. Citrusy in the front with a lingering bitterness calling back to the rubber band smell. The malt comes through at the very end and balances out what could be a hoppy mess without it. As usual, as it warms, the malt is allowed to shine through. Overall: Itís a good beer, perhaps a great beer, but itís not what I want in a winter seasonal. Itís about what youíd expect from Sierra Nevada in terms of taste and aroma. It shows off the hop harvest well, so I guess itís mission accomplished on that part. If Iím judging it on it just on taste, itís a probably 8/10, but as a seasonal Iím giving it: 7/10.

Pours a clear amber with light white head. A pine and citrus/floral hop aroma. A bitter hop taste with citrus, pine and some light winter spices. A dry earthy hop aftertaste.

Pours a clear light copper with 2 finger light yellow head. Head is fairly resilient and leaves quite a bit of lacing. Lots of hops on the nose and the palate. Thereís some nice caramel notes underneath, but not being a hop head, itís a bit over the top hop wise for me (and very one note hop).

Bottle from Vino Wines. Clear amber body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Lacing coats the full glass. Aroma of hop resin, pine and blood orange. Flavour of honey, cedar and freshly rubbed American hops. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. A hoppy, easy drinking IPA.

Pours copper with a medium, short lived head. Aroma of pine. Taste of sticky pine with a bitter body. OK but not their best

Pour is dark clear amber with a thick of white head. Nose is citrus and a bit spicy. A lot more taste than expected after the nose. Fresh intense citrus and floral hop flavors. Very fruity. The malty sweetness kicks in in the middle and gets overwhelmed by a long medium to high pine bitterness with a touch of roasted malt. Excellent IPA with lots of fresh hop flavors.
