When considering how an ale like this could remind me of Christmas, I turned to my Uncle Ted. He comes to the family Christmas Eve dinner every year, drunk off his ass, Bud in hand, and makes us all realize how much we hate our family. This beer had the same effect. It looks like part of the family. It even has a cute label. But may I say, a 6 pack of this garbage quite possibly could have thrown me off the deep end if I had had it a few weeks closer to Christmas. Bah-humbug!

On tap @GarricksHeadPub. Lots going on here, but it rounds out into a smooth, very palatable brew. Lighter and easier than I expected -- good balance of multiple hop strains that don’t overwhelm a solid malt base.

Bottle 2014 edition. Not as pungent as a torpedo but pretty fruity. Some distinctive Sierra Nevada tones filter through. A good drop.

Ett år gammal flaska. Mörkt bärnstensfärgad öl med inslag av rött. Ljusbeige skum. I doften finns storkaramelldoft, malt men även mycket humle, främst i form av tallbarr men även en del fruktighet som drar åt jordgubbe. Detta går igen i smaken. Bra humlebett trots att flaskan var ett år gammal.

Pours a nice dark amber.
Taste. Very bitter and very grapefruit forward, also with a slight pine and sweet caramel backing.
Overall. Very bitter and not for the feint hearted, whilst i think this is a very redeeming quality, this would get another couple of rating points if they kept or maybe even toned down the bitterness, to let the non bitter flavours of the hops present themselves better.

On tap. Light aroma and orange color. Medium cloudiness, slightly fruity start on this and a little bitterness on the finish. Weak. Really not a good beer.
