Got Stout? (173), Wisconsin, USA Feb 20, 2002 I absolutely loved Sierra’s offering of their Celebration Ale. I had a 1999 bottle that was stored in a damp room for quite some time (haha Joel!) and I was knocked out by its smooth mix of hoppy bite and alcohol (if that’s actually smooth!)
wxman (459), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Sep 28, 2008 on draft pours a dark amber/ruby with a decent head and a certain cloudiness. aroma is hops and malt. Taste is sweet caramelly malt and dry hopped bitterness. Warms the tummy a bit. Quite good, but a bit hoppier than I prefer. mesperon (29), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA Sep 23, 2008 Pours out dense copper, almost opaque with a cream colored head. Rich herby and woody aroma, traces of cinnamon and vanilla. Very full mouthfeel without being dense or heavy. Starts out very spicy with a grassy hop bitterness, alcohol is very warming, especially for low ABV. Tastes almost like an IPA in that hops dominate the flavor, with a little holiday spice added in. Finishes very peppery. Not much malt or sweetness. Drinks very easy despite lack of balance. chadje (98), Pasadena, California, USA Sep 23, 2008 Bottle. Poured a nice hazy yellow color with a good head. Smells like an IPA with hops and sweetness. Tastes very smooth and a good bitter aftertaste. Allen (644), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Sep 20, 2008 Bottled 350ml. Vintage 2007. 6.8 ABV. Wonderful strong nose with all the typical IPA characteristics. Hints of quinces in both nose and taste. Wonderful hop profile. Outstandingly pleasant. Perfectly balanced. Thanks a lot bov - I find this beer excellent. I enjoyed it a huge lot. Hollywoodt (165), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Sep 19, 2008 2007 version. Poured a golden hazy color with minimal head. Aroma was malt and hops. The flavor was dominated by the hops. Not being a hop-head, this wasn’t really up my alley.
