4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
So I like Sierra Nevada. A high quality brewery with a number of good offerings. But I always approach seasonals with a degree of skepticism. They tend to be seasonal because you wouldn’t want to drink this beer all year round. Not with this tasty brew.
Very aromatic with citrus and some bread notes. Some maltiness comes through too.
A very beautiful beer with a tremendous white head and medium amber color. Initially sweet but the hops kick in right away with a beautiful medium bitterness that lingers for a long time. Very smooth in your mouth. Creamy for an ale this hoppy. Very drinkable. After trying a bottle that my brother gave me, I bought a 12-pack. I look forward to one almost every day now. It doesn’t grow old. Excellent

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml bottle from Wholefoods. 2014 release BB Oct 2015. Hazy orange amber, sparkling, big foamy head with craters, some thin lacing. Aroma is rubbery, lightly floral, leaves. Body is medium, foamy, low-ish carbonation. Taste is dry caramel and burnt toffee, slightly metallic, assertive bitterness and astringent hop character. Overall, it leaves a ’soapy’ impression. Decent enough.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Orange with good white head. Pungent pine and citrus hop aroma with a rich malty sweetness. What can I say, the description is accurate. Solid taste of fresh hops and rich toasted malt. Well balanced. Hops leave a pleasant coating on tongue. Lingering toasted malt flavor. Super good

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy copper color with tan head. Aroma of musty bitter oranges. Taste; bitter orange peel and malty mouth feel (not much malt flavor though). It grows on you as it warms up, if its too cold it has a character reminiscent of dish soap, as it warms up it is more of a wintery, boozy IPA. The aroma never improves though... perhaps best consumed from the bottle directly. For the price (<$15 per 12-pack).

Sweet and soapy. Citrusy hops but a bit like dishwasher orange soap stuff.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled 10/10/14. Pours golden pale color with a huge frothy beige head that lingers. Aroma is big bold hops, Lemon, orange, just tons of citrus. Little bit of malt backbone. Flavor is hop-forward, orange sweetness. mango, grapefruit. Very tasty, with a just slight maltiness. It’s definitely a hoppy IPA but it isn’t overpowering. Good flavor, fresh. Really good IPA that.

I think the beer from North Carolina tastes different than from California. This beer was good. Now it tastes like soap. Anyway
Aroma is soapy. Oily. Watery. Little hops,
Looks good reddish orange.
Tastes oily. Orange. Lemon. Hops are dull.
Palate is watery. Pretty smooth tho. Medium body.
Overall where did the hops go? Why do all Sierra Nevada beers smell and taste like soap now? Nope. Something is amiss

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
It’s about damn time I had Celebration Ale. I’ve only been wanting this ale for two years or so. The wait is over, and I must say, it was worth it. Appearance is what I’ve come to expect from Sierra Nevada’s hoppy ales: heady and burnt orange. Smell and taste are fresh hop-forward. Pine, grapefruit, and some grassy notes dominate the aroma. Taste has more of the same with some herbal and spicy tones thrown in for extra goodness. THIS is a winter ale. Exotic spices be damned. Hops prevail. A holiday IPA is a real reason to celebrate.
