COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale represents a time honored tradition of brewing a special beer for the holiday season. There are generous portions of barley malts and fine whole hops of several varieties, creating a brew with a full, rich and hearty character.

This beer was an impulse buy prompted by a surprisingly low price. I took note of the brewery and little else. It should come as no surprise, then, that I expected a very malty beer with little hop presence and a very full body. It seems a large number of beers brewed for the holiday season fit into that mold. The initial aroma did little to convince me otherwise. My wife disagrees with the mild aroma assessment, so maybe I’m imagining that (or have a cold or something). Anyway... Wow. Lurking beneath the mild aroma was a mouthful of hops. The body is medium-light and the head is soft and seems to last forever. But the hops... There is almost no balance contributed by the malts, and for me, that is a good thing. A little more in the area of aroma might be desired (if for no other reason but as a warning to unsuspecting drinkers), but overall, this could easily be my favorite beer for now. Had I known at the time of purchase that this beer was this good, I would have picked up a case or seven.

2015 version from bottle. Pours amber/copper with a stunning head, the bubbles were nearly hexagonal. Aroma features orange peel from the hops and this carries through to the palate. A very solid brew.

Draft in Growler. It poured an amber color with a thin white head and minimal lacing. The aroma was light floral hops. The taste was tropical fruit and some caramel malt. I kept the beer overnight in the growler so I will try this one again.

On tap @ Sur & Bitter, Sandnes. Pours dark golden, with a creamy, off white head. Aroma is hoppy tropical notes of mango, apricots, pineapples and oranges, floral notes and malty notes of bread and toffee. Creamy body, with average carbonation. Flavour is bitter hops, with pine, orange peel and tropical notes of mango, apricots and litchi, as well as malty notes of bread, caramel and honey. Sweet, hoppy finish.

Homályos sötét borostyán szín, közepes, tartós hab. Illata enyhe, ipás. Kellemesen kesernyés, lágy ipás ízvilág, nem túl sok gyantával. Utóíze keserű, enyhe citrussal és gyantával. Közepesen testes.

Had this one a while back. Pours a bright orange and gold. Dank and heavy with tons of lacing and sticky head. Pine and grapefruit abound. Just so, so drinkable with moderate bitterness and mild sweet malts. Holy crap, so fresh and frutiy!

330ml bottle served in regular glass. Enjoyed in Hong Kong.
A: Pours a beautiful slightly cloudy amber color forming a big and creamy, light beige and soapy head with good retention. Forms tons of soapy and lingering lacings in the glass.
S: Caramel malts and fruits. Strong notes of grapefruit and orange zest. Hints of pine, honey, grass and pineapple. A bit boozy finish.
T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel and grapefruit. Pine, honey, orange zest and grass. Great, intense and delicious bitterness.
M: Meidum body and carbonation. Great bittersweet balance. Grassy and pine persistent aftertaste.
O: Excellent drinkability. Excellent IPA. Sierra Nevada quality.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear orange-amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is a refreshing smell of pine. The taste is a great hop flavor. An excellent seasonal.

Very good IPA, goes perfect alone or with a good burger off the grill (not McDs or BK)
