Dirty brown with a tan head. Aroma was maple and brown sugar with some toastiness and definitely bourbon. Taste is stong with bourbon and similar taste to the nose with some earthiness. Very enjoyable.

Big bottle thanks to Stu. Pours opaque black with a nice thin crema head. The nose has chocolate biscuits with cream and The taste has liquorice, tar, dark chocolate, cream. The palate has a rich full body, a big creamy middle section and unfortunately I feel this is far too cloying on the end. It’s imbalanced which is shame.

Appearance: muddy brown with a creamy tan head and syrupy legs. Aroma: caramel, toffee, brown sugar, maple syrup, toast and bourbon. Taste: malty and sweet, with notes of booze, syrup, brown sugar, toffee, caramel, and Dr. Pepper, with strong hoppyness containing pine, resin and earth. Finish: bitter and boozy, with a lingering tingling burn. Notes: 750 bottle, cellared for 1+ years. Could easily be classified as a barleywine. A big, boozy, rich, and sweet beer. Not my favorite.

Bottle and on tap, bottle more recently. Pours a deep redish tinted black with chreamy thick head, good lacing. Aromas of cherry, awesome malts, maple, caramel, chocolate, biscuit malts. Tacky mouth with a bit of booze. Tasty beer, Palate might be a little too syrupy.

750 ml bottle from Wine and Cheese Place. Pours a chestnut brown, deep and clear, with a massive, frothy beige head that laces the glass. Aroma of leaves, nuts, chocolate, wood, and maple. The flavor is sweeter, with maple syrup, brown sugar, nuts, toast, and leaves. Medium-full bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Shows some booze as it warms.
