Dark brown beer, light just passes through. Softish palate, semi dry. Sublte toffee malt nose. A strange beer this - creamy malt, a dash of coffee, licorice, aniseed alcohol. A little marmalade hop bitterness. Finishes soft and dry. Nice components but disjointed. Nontheless end up a decent brew!

Pours a very dark brown with a three finger tan head.Aroma of dark plummy fruit over smooth, dark caramel. Treacle? Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is smooth dark malt, darker fruits, and something like dark sugar. This is not dry. There is a twinge of heat. It drinks quite smoothly. Deadly stuff. Excellent stuff.

A: The pour is a clear copper color with very little in terms of a head. S: The smell is quite interesting. There’s a bunch of dark fruits: figs and raisins, for the most part. There’s also an aroma of maple syrup and a fair amount of alcohol. T: The figs and raisins are present on the palate as well. The maple syrup is an underlying flavor that adds nice dimension to the beer, but also a bit too much sweetness. The alcohol is present, but the beer is not as hot as some might lead you to believe. M: The body is full and the beer is smooth and creamy on the tongue. D: This was an interesting beer. It’s good, but I think my taste of it might be enough. I will hold on to my bottle of it and see how it does with some age on it.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a below average beer for style and I don’t get it. .
