KDorgan12 (162), Memphis, Tennessee, USA Mar 10, 2008 Bottle-Memphis. Pours a darker gold with an off-white. Aroma blew the typical ESB away with a shotgun. There was nothing suttle about it. I enjoyed it as more of a Pale Ale that an ESB. Maybe that’s why they don’t call it an extra special bitter...
milljam (166), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Nov 28, 2008 Not really anywhere near an actual English ESB. Overall, nothing really stood out. jimmack34 (158), Ohio, USA Nov 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a rich copper color with slight off white head. Smells hoppy and sweet. Tastes like bread grains, sweet malts, bittersweet hops, a little sugary. Very good. Rich, malty beer, full of grainy flavour. Ending up in a dry, well hopped finish. Very nice. Hansen (1828), Randers, Denmark Oct 23, 2008 Copper colour and clear. Has a white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is mainly sweet, hoppy notes. Flavor starts lightly sweet and finish moderate bitter. Dry texture. austone (579), Turku; Pori, Finland Oct 15, 2008 Bottle at EBF. Hazy golden, small fizzy head. Cookie like, honeyish nose, little sulphur and hops. Clean malty flavor, fruity hops, yeast. Quite boring, sterile bitter. Medium bodied, fizzy carbonation.
