BillWyce (36), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 23, 2008 Bottle poured into English pint. Aroma of
citrus and a little pine. Poured cloudy
amber with a decent head. At first the
taste is a littly hoppy with a kind of
fizzy palate where the hops lingers on
the tongue a bit. As it warms, it seems
to lose a lot of the hops and it takes on
more of an earthy, malty tone. Not an
all-star, but a good beer that’s a solid
choice for hot weather.
milljam (166), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Nov 28, 2008 Not really anywhere near an actual English ESB. Overall, nothing really stood out. jimmack34 (158), Ohio, USA Nov 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a rich copper color with slight off white head. Smells hoppy and sweet. Tastes like bread grains, sweet malts, bittersweet hops, a little sugary. Very good. KnutAlbert (2462), Oslo, Norway Oct 28, 2008 Bottle from Oddbins, London.
Rich, malty beer, full of grainy flavour. Ending up in a dry, well hopped finish. Very nice. Hansen (1828), Randers, Denmark Oct 23, 2008 Copper colour and clear. Has a white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is mainly sweet, hoppy notes. Flavor starts lightly sweet and finish moderate bitter. Dry texture. austone (579), Turku; Pori, Finland Oct 15, 2008 Bottle at EBF. Hazy golden, small fizzy head. Cookie like, honeyish nose, little sulphur and hops. Clean malty flavor, fruity hops, yeast. Quite boring, sterile bitter. Medium bodied, fizzy carbonation.
