I came into this one with high expectations and did leave a bit disappointed. Definitely lacked in hop flavor. nice balance of other flavors, but just wasnt much pop to this one. Aroma was probably the best part for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 dbarnold (566) - Bethesda, Maryland, USA - NOV 28, 2011
Mild and smooth for a Sierra offering, but tasty nonetheless. Pours light orange with a large cream colored head. Hops are mild but present throughout and it’s quite refreshing. Not intense like most sierra stuff, but very good.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Cybercat (1728) - Georgia, USA - NOV 25, 2011
Comes out of the tap a somewhat hazy dark amber with a thick, fine-bubbled pale tan head. Strongly hoppy aroma has fruity and powdery hints, and promises a truly worthy IPA. Flavor is SERIOUSLY hoppy - like drinking a liquid pine tree! Yet bitterness is minimal, and it has some subtle fruity and honey notes. Texture has plenty of fizz and body, and finish is tingly and quite hoppy. Recommended!!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 rader58 (574) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - NOV 1, 2011
2009 1st release. 24 oz bottle. Pours an opaque dark copper color. Aroma of pine, citrus, toffee, hay field, caramel. Flavor is citrus, floral, caramel, apricot. A bitter and sweet finish. Quite a nice beer for those who love hops.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bjt512 (292) - Athens, Georgia, USA - OCT 21, 2011
On tap at Five Points Growlers in Athens, GA, this poured a deep russet color - almost like a brown ale - beneath a one-finger sudsy white head. This still smells like the field, with aromas of fresh-cut grass and leaf mulch mingling with the familiar citrus and pine flavors of a freshly hopped ale. The malt backbone is complex and powerful - indeed, so powerful that the hops that dominate the aroma do not come through in the flavor until after a wave of complex sweetness has washed over you. Overall, this is a delightful beer, far more complex than most wet hops, and ranking alongside Founders’ Harvest Ale as one of the very best seasonal offerings.

A: Deep copper-amber body. Hearty off-white cap. Good retention and lacing. Looks very solid.
S: Light citrus and floral hops. Light grainy-malt. Not particularly intense or pungent.
T: Improved over the nose. I don’t know if the problem is a lack of hops or low yield in alpha acids from the hops that they did use. Mostly floral, and light lemon-grapefruit notes.
M: Light-medium bodied. A little more carbonation than ideal. Clean finish.
O: Pretty solid. I like the idea of the project, but the price doesn’t work when compared with Chico IPA, the original Harvest, and Celebration.
