COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is one of the only estate-made ales available in the world today. Produced with hops and barley produced on the premises of our brewery in Chico, this ale reflects the flavors of our surroundings in California’s fertile central valley. By growing out own ingredients, we ensure the finest two-row barley and the freshest hops on earth, from the field and into the brew kettle.

From the bottle poured a copper colored brew with a thick, frothy head. Nicely balanced malt and hop aromas. Full bodied and silky smooth with malty flavor followed by a little hop sting.

Bottle shared with HopTsing. Found this lurking in the beer fridge from last year- no telling how it will be. Orangey and hazy with big frothy head. Smells biscuity, a tad citrusy, a bit dank. First sip is perfumey and sweet, then the bitterness kicks in. I think this is past its prime-- oops, will have to drink faster next time. If I come across it again I will re-rate.

2011 vintage of "Estate Homegrown Ale" - Bottle - big foamy head, hazy dark copper color, nice big hop (earthy, piney, and citrus all in one!) aroma and flavor, nicely balanced with a medium malt backbone - very good overall

Purchased as Sierra Naveda Estate Homegrown Ale: Aroma is fruity. Grapefruit with hints of pineapple and perhaps orange. Pours a cloudy orange amber with a robust, mostly lasting, ivory head and abundant lacing. The taste is lightly bitter. Fruit up front followed by some earthy and grassy flavors. There is a healthy bitterness in the finish and the aftertaste. Medium body and fmedium crisp carbonation. Oveall, an easy drinker. Very tasty and refreshing.

Bottle as the Estate Homegrown Ale. Deep, rich, amber colored pour. Off-white head, pretty sizable. Plenty of lacing as it slowly falls. Nice caramel malt aroma and a great fresh citrusy hop bouquet. There is a slight chocolate note I am getting as well. Taste is a very malty flavor with some caramel notes. Great soft hop flavor. A little bitter in the back with some residual malt sweetness. Very good beer.

Bomber. I don’t think I had what everyone is rating. A big malt bomb in a wax top bottle.

Bottle - Golden orange pour with great head. Aroma is mostly of sweet toasted barley. Flavor is like aroma with sweetness from the barley up front and hops in the back. Was expecting more hops and not as much much barley sweetness, but still a good beer.
