Commercial Description:
This is one of the only estate-made ales available in the world today. Produced with hops and barley produced on the premises of our brewery in Chico, this ale reflects the flavors of our surroundings in California’s fertile central valley. By growing out own ingredients, we ensure the finest two-row barley and the freshest hops on earth, from the field and into the brew kettle.

aroma is of subtle pine, understated. while its’ style is obvious from just a whiff, it shows good restraint. also, the hops are well tempered by a grain bill that borders on floral and is reminiscent of qualities of other styles entirely. appearance is clear amber a shade towards dark. sticky lacing and lingering head. flavor is excessively balanced, chewy and substantial. piney hops push the aroma deeper, pointing towards light lemon notes that were missed initially. resin flavors linger along with the coating mouthfeel, sticky as the lacing that lines my glass.

Creamy, medium statured tan colored head, good lacing and retention, sticky and lasting. Orange colored body, copper hued. Nose of citrus, oranges and light lemon notes with toasty malts backing them. Body is fully medium with a prickly carbonation and lightly resiny. Fresh hop flavors of citrus, grass and pine with some light woody notes as well. Dry maltiness and a nice earthyness. Dry finish is lightly fruity with a solid bitterness. Bottle donated to the cause by my friend Robert @statelineliquors. Thanks much dude!

HH’s O-FEST TASTING: Citrus, bitter fruity hops, and toffee. Flavors of grapefruits, orange peelings, toffee, and buttered bread. Oily, full mouthfeel. Long bitter aftertaste. One of the highlights of the night. Grabbed a couple at the sale price as the rep told me of the regular cost. Fantastic brew.

I recently bought a case from Holiday Market, you may say I’m a fan of wet-hopped beer. A terrific rich, coppery-reddish color out of the bottle into a 22 oz. glass. An assertive, live head, but not unmanageable, that stayed active till the glass was empty. A flavorful beer that is worth seeking out, at least once, still nothing seems to stand out on the palate to make this as individually memorable as the packaging suggests. It is more expensive than previous editions of Sierra Nevada’s wet-hopped 24 oz. bottles.

24oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber with some floaters and a one finger light tan head that results in delicate lacing. The nose is caramel malt and fresh citrus. The taste is toffee, tart citrus and linger pine in the finish. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Good IPA.

On tap at the Monk’s Kettle. This reddish orange beer poured with a beautiful beige head and a pine aroma. There is a delicious caramel malt flavor followed by a very mellow and fresh hop bitterness. Those hops start sticking to your tongue after a few sips.

Bottle purchased at Daveco near Erie CO. Pours a beautiful orange amber with a two fingers ivory head that lasts all the way to the bottom of the glass. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, citrus, and grassy hops. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of classic Sierra Nevada pale malts, which are caramelly. However this had some hints of toasted malt and biscuit. The bitterness is a nicely melded combination of grapefruit, grassy hops, and herbs. Dry and hoppy finish, but clean. Excellent session beer. Similar to SNPA, but drier and hoppier- and perhaps fresher.
