Our handmade Estate Ale highlights the flavors of home. From the sun-drenched fields of California’s North Valley comes our Estate Ale. It’s rich with the flavors of the valley—hops with earthy, grapefruit-like flavors and layered spicy aromas, and barley with mild sweetness and smooth, toasted flavors. Enjoy this remarkable homegrown ale, made with organic wet hops and barley grown at our brewery in Chico, and one of the few estate-made ales produced anywhere in the world. Together, these crops grow alongside the brewery to make a truly unique brew.

Quite a surprise for me really, having not been entirely impressed with previous years offerings. A deep amber pour, resiny smell of hops, all very well structered... This tastes like a very fresh, high quality, top shelf ingredient, no expense spared beverage... which it is. I loved it, its a great beer, just dont expect it to be like losing your virginity all over again... its just a REALLY WELL MADE BEER.

22 oz bottle poured into chalice. Aroma of hops, malts, a little barley and some slight citrus notes. Pours an amber brown with a thick fluffy tan head that dissipates slowly. Very very smooth with a somewhat complexity. Very fresh tasting, hoppy, malty, citrusy with a slight bitterness to it. Surprised at how good this was.

Bottle. Copper. Pine, earthy aroma. The taste adds biscuits, toast, spices of rue and black pepper, sweet citrus and roasted barley. Rich bitterness on the feel with a sticky texture. Awesome. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Subtle pale malt aroma, notes of tea, light tannins, light sweetness - complex and hard to pin down the individual components, but the overall effect was very good. Good belgian-style bomber, good label. Tawny, clear beer with a tall, stiff tan head with good retention. Wow, finally an AIPA that isn’t trying to be a hyper-bittered, acid hop bomb. Bitter, but deftly done. Lemony, iced tea notes. Slippery mouthfeel with some effervescence. Bitterness starts to build in the aftertaste and the finish goes just slightly long. I could see this becoming a go-to beer. Proof Bottle Shop.

This goes down very easy, slightly wet on the tongue, fresh hop flavor, very aromatic and easy drinking. Toasted malt, a little sweet. A mix of hop flavors. herbal, citrus, pine, earth hops.

Grapefruit hop aroma with nots of caramel malt. Fluffy off white head with excellent retention. Clear orange appearance. Grapefruit cascade hop flavor is upfront with medium amount of malt flavor full of biscuit and caramel. Mouthfeel is medium full with medium carbonation. Overall, it's a descent beer. I would prefer a little less body to make it more drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This had a hoppy aroma when first poured, but died out by the end of the beer. Darker than expected, copper in color. Tasted great at the start, but was not so great by the end. More of an average beer. Good product, but not better than the traditional Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Disappointed in the almost non-existent aroma. Good balance in the flavors though between the malty grains and grapefruity hops.

an organic ale; deep amber-red color; citrusy, floral hop aroma with toasted malt notes; a dry, bitter beer; grassy, citrusy, earthy, herbal hops and toasted malt; well balanced; great, dry, bitter finish

A decent paddle ale, unfortunately not as interesting as we had hoped. Pours a nice clear amber with a grey head. No smell whatsoever. Taste is basic, with some caramel upfront, and coriander and a light hoppiness in the finish. Had in the bottle.

This beer has a very mild aroma. It has a beautiful copper color and clear flavor with starts off citrusy and develops a smokey aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
