Commercial Description:
This is one of the only estate-made ales available in the world today. Produced with hops and barley produced on the premises of our brewery in Chico, this ale reflects the flavors of our surroundings in California’s fertile central valley. By growing out own ingredients, we ensure the finest two-row barley and the freshest hops on earth, from the field and into the brew kettle.

I loved this beer, perhaps influenced by the fact I was gifted it as opposed to paying for it. Thanks to the individual who shall remain nameless who gave this to me! Medium orange, nose of caramel malts, earthy hops, and a high note of grapefruit. Initial flavor matched. As it warmed, the grapefruit flavors subsided and more earthy and floral hop notes came through. An excellent, superbly balanced IPA.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, hops, straw, and peaches. The flavor is sweet with notes of matl, peaches, and citrus, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

Pours copper. Aromas are fruity, piney, including peach and tangerine notes on top of resiny pine and some flint. Flavor is well balanced, some interesting malt notes before the finish hits you with fresh juniper and citrus. This beer was good, but at $13 I could think of many beers just as good for half or less of the price.

Bottle from my local for a beer tasting. Pours a nice deep golden amber color; the medium white head recedes to reveal sticky, streamy layered lacing. Nice citrus and floral hops aroma. Big hop flavor, piney, earthy, floral, and citrus. The malt base took a backseat to the hops allowing all the variety to grab you by y\the balls. Sturdy beer with a mild finish. Nice

Bottle:   Deep amber, slightly hazy, huge rocky off-white head, sticky lacing.   Stale hop aroma.   Smells very musty and basement like... well hops are there but like old hops or something.   Slightly earthy and dirty.   Soft earthy hop flavor on first sip.   Yeah, this one, unlike their others, seems to be more earthy/soily.   Decent malt base, compliments the bitter bits.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Lingering soiliness.   Decent IPA, but not floral but very earthy and soily.   I prefer the other Harvest Ales compared to this one.
