Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

Pours a very dark red almost a light brown but not quite. Medium thick tan head. Aroma is pretty amazing. These 3 hops work great together and were used in the right proportions. Tropical fruit and citrus are very present, along with a bit of pine. Medium sweet taste. Medium-light body, hoping for a little heavier. Mild hop bitterness and fruit in the finish. A little more bitter would have been good but overall this was a very enjoyable beer.

[Bottle (12oz).] Pours a very deep dark amber with an average size lasting fluffy off-white head. Aroma of citrus hops, rye grain, caramel malt, tropical fruit, alcohol and sugar. Flavour of citrusy hops, some earthy hops, and caramel malt along with a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. A great beer.

Very well balanced, nice hop aroma and taste without being overbearing. Delivers well as being a fall beer.

Bottle from Sentry / beer fridge....pours a nice reddish amber; moderate head. Citrus nose and initial taste....not too hoppy / well balanced by the malts in here...very tasty. ---Rated via iPad

Bottle: Amber-orange in color, with a moderate sandy head. Nice retention and spotty lacing. The nose is sweet, a little more from the fruity hops, but a really nice caramel comes along too. Flavors of citrus, light pine, and florals. Not as much fruit comes along as the aroma would suggest, but more of a robust and dry malt backbone to bring things along. Finishes well with a nice floral bite. Good, solid stuff again from Sierra Nevada.

Bottle. Pours a very deep ruddy copper with a dirty white head that fades with medium lacing. Smells if citrus as one would expect from an IPA. The taste though is reminds me of sour patch kids in reverse - sweet on the front with a bitter on the finish. It is like pink grapefruit in that tr bitter is even slightly sweet. Excellent departure from the typical IPA! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

First beer at the lake house fit Columbus day with the family. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Soft caramel and some earthy hops. Medium bodied, soft earthy hops, nice pungent hops. Touches of quinine and grapefruit peel. Very nice.

One sip of this beer, and I was immediately vaulted back to my UConn dorm room circa 1995. Why? Because it tasted dead up like Mary Jane. How in the world did Sierra Nevada achieve that? Very impressive! Also amazed at how quickly and cleanly Flipside finished after attacking my tongue as hard and fast as bong water attacks your nose when it accidentally spills on the carpet when the dumb chic down the hall gets toasted for the first time and knocks the binger over. There I go entering the time machine again. I recommend trying this beer--you are guaranteed to bogart it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle- Pours a deep ruby red color with a nice tan head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of Some pine and citrus with an unexpected malt presence and fruity sweetness. Taste of malt, a subdued citrus and mild fruity sweetness. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. medium body, crisp, clean and refreshing. Not a IPA with a distinct hop bite but still a beer with a lot of character. Enjoyable beer that goes down easy.
