Sierra Nevada Flipside Red IPA is a real treat from an established craft brewery. Aroma of citrus fruit coming from a deep red pour with a nice head. Tropical and citrus fruit notes are prominent in the taste with just enough bitterness. Finish is clean with the citrus and tropical fruit notes remaining. Flipside Red is a nice end of summer brew to quench your palate.

Good red ale. Fresh bottle from Premier Gourmet. Toasted malt makes it so much a red. Lacy, nice hopping.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Starts with a big piney hop nose, pours a clear red with just a dusting of off white head. Big hoppy flavor, with citrus and pine notes balanced by some caramel malts. Long lingering bitter finish, a nice solid IPA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Reddish brown pour. Nose is malted with hop notes. Taste is moderately hoped, maybe some tropical fruit, grapefruit. Some bitterness at the end. This is a red ipa, hops are tempered by a malt backbone. Not bad.

This was a very enjoyable IPA for sure. The body was smooth and the taste - refreshing grapefruit and sourdough bread malty goodness. The citra hops, of course, is all that envelops your nose sip after sip. Cheers!!!

Delicious, nice robust beer. Has good body and mouth feel. Not over powering but has a lot of flavor. Has a nice roasted, malty finish to the bitter hoppy beginning.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a medium red/amber with a foamy off-white head and lacing. It has an aroma of citrus and tropical fruit hops and some amber malt as well. The flavor is fruity hops up front with a malty backbone and bitter finish over a medium body.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Feels a bit formulaic (torpedo plus ’redness’), but sierra nevada has a good formula so im not complaining. Subtle caramel toffee, then passionfruit, and grapefruit/pine bite on finish. Like a very distant younger relative of surly furious, pick it up if the price is right...
