Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

Amber pour, thick head. Aroma is caramel, toasted malt. Light citrusy hop. Flavour is caramel/toffee, citrus, burnt sugar. Not 100% on board for this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml bottle (Alus Celle, Riga)
Very deep red, large but brief head, settles to just scum. Pungently hopped, some treacly caramel too. Fairly light palate, pleasant carbonation. Tastes first of the caramel, then some burntness, then the pungent hops, and then the treaclyness again. After you’ve swallowed it all, there’s a huge drying bitter finish, resiny and dirty in the mouth, quite a tingle. Not as sticky as your typical red, which is a good thing. No sign of any alcohol. Pretty decent. Too bitter for glugging, but I don’t think a whole bottle will be a problem.

Rødbrun farge med lys beige skum. Lukter karamell, humle og noe alkohol. Medium med kullsyre og noe bitter ettersmak.

Orangebrun noe tåkete med fingerhøyt beige skum. Lukter mørke frukter, karamell og grapefrukt. Fruktig start med medium bitterhet. Bitterheten sitter godt i avslutningen.

Bottle. Clear copper colour with small white foam. Aromas of hops and fruits, also malty and caramel notes. Taste has hops, a mango sweet hint, a bit watery. Soapy mouthfeel. No real depth in flavour. I love Sierra Nevada beers and was expecting more from this one.

Keg at ushers. It’s red right enough. Citrus and caramel. Nicely balanced between malt and hops.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Flipside pours a mostly clear strawberry orange with a decent creamy beige head that lasts a fair while. The aroma is pine, floral, biscuit and honey. The flavor is floral, pine and biscuit. The body is medium with light carbonation. Overall this is a decent beer.

Light/medium aroma with bit sweeter dark fruits. Deep reddish orange color with small natural white head. Clear liquid. Medium/strong, quite dry taste with dark fruits, some malty notes and bit bitter feeling. Balanced. Medium taste spectrum and long bit sweet fruity and hoppy aftertaste. Medium/light body with medium carbonation. Overall quite stylish and balanced product, but too dry and dark for me.

Bottle. Deep amber in color with an off-white head. Ripe garden fruityness, sweet tea leafs and slightly burnt brown sugar in aroma. Citrus fruityness, some bitterness and green herbalness in taste. Sweet notes as well. Probably better as fresh, enjoyed on the premises, and not aired overnight.
