COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2013 I had high hopes for this but something with sierra Nevada has gone wrong. Individual hop flavors get lost in a spicy bitterness. its overwhelming with the citra simcoe and centennial flavors struggling to break through. I started noticing this issue in all their IPA with last years celebration release. Thats just about when i noticed torpedo lost its floral citrus finish to just bitterness. Flipside gets better as it warms but I really like citra and simcoe hops and this beer isn’t the finest example of their use.

Pours quite red with an attractive cream head. Aroma of grapefruit and pine. Taste adds caramel and finishes bitter.

From 355 ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy brick red with a creamy latte head that laces well. Aromas of grapefruit, melon, guava, caramel and pine needles. Taste starts off with rich malty caramel before a fresh citrus zest and pine bitterness kicks in. Lingering citrus finish with fresh grapes and pepper in the aftertaste. Good stuff.

Aroma is underwhelming and frankly disappointing. Very light American hop aroma. Pleasant malt aroma. Very nice clear red with thick head. Taste is moderately bitter with limited hop flavor coming through. Malty red. Pleasant brew but not enough hop presence for an IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at SBWF. Clear copper colour, small head. Grapefruit and caramel up front. Mid sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Dominated by grapefruit, caramel and toast. Quite bitter finish.

Pours ruby read with a small fine head. Nose is lots of caramel and toffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, a hint of honey. Flavor is a decent caramel backbone with lots of juicy hops. Lots of grapefruit and lemon peel, with a bitter finish with a touch of biscuit. Slightly viscous mouthfeel. Pretty tasty.

Very nice red ipa. Very pleasant copper poor with minimal head. Caramel and toffee notes are what stand out to me. Smooth hop bitterness. Very good.

On tap at PNP Morgantown. Clear amber with big beige head. Arom is herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, some small-bubble lacing. Taste is some grapefruit, herbal hops, some pine, and slightly bitter finish. Hop flavors are subtle for American IPA.

Single from total wine. Solid. A little more body and caramel but still with some nice English hops working. Grassy herbal some candi sugar. A bit metallic bitter on the finish.
