COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

355 ml bottle bought at CitySuper in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Looks: Translucent deep amber red colour with no yeast sediments; One-quarter finger head and light beige foam which fades in 20 seconds; Very good sticky lacing with very slight carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant and quite sweet Ale malt, with strong lemon, grapefruit, passion fruits, light jackfruits, floral, honey, light cat piss, light pine, yeast and very light grass.

Taste: Mid to light sweet Ale and dark malt, with strong roastyness, very strong lemon, strong lime, grapefruit, passion fruits, molasses, pine, light earth, yeast, very strong bitter hops and moderate grass.

Body: Mid to light body, slick palate.

Mouth Feel: Good, solid and slick roasty malty backbone despite the presence of wheat. Very hard-hitting citrus, especially lemon and lime, followed by testable passion fruits and nice molasses. Moderate pine and earth and ended with strong hops. Nice!

Hoppiness: strong lemon, passion fruits, light jack fruits, floral, honey and light pine in nose. Very strong lemon, lime, tropical fruits, pine and light earth in taste. Bitterness is quietly powerful, not quite as slamming as German Pils but approaching to that level in a nice comfy way. Lasting strong astringent finish.

After Taste: Quite dry, very citrusy and bitter to mouth.

Comment: This is lightened in body, but the malts are roasty, yummy and rich. The Cs took the stage by storm with very tasty bitter Magnum finish. A perfect Summer beer!

Keg at The White Horse, Leamington Spa, Warks. Hazy Chestnut with White head. Served exceptionally cold. Really sweet, toffee’d beer, some sweet chestnut flavours, little on the roasted side though, late spice hint. Borderline.

Good fruity aroma. Fruity with a special taste. Good bitterness that fills the upper part of the mouth and sides for a long while. Special flavor to the beer but still an IPA. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

This is a surprisingly un-American red ale, with quite a muted hop presence. The nose is toffee, biscuit and a tiny bit of cherry, with some late hop notes. In the mouth, the hops are quite bitter on the sides of the tongue. The malt is heavy on the tongue and there’s a good length to it. It’s a little safer than I expect from Sierra Nevada but certainly a nice beer.

Flaska från SB. Smak och doft av humle, malt, citrus, apelsin, tropisk frukt, grapefrukt med toner av trä och röda bär. Lagom sötma och fin beska med smak av grapefrukt. Gott.
