COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

HQT night. Bottle. Perfect red color. thick head. Creamy finish. Very distinct aftertaste. Hops really pucker the tongue. Just a prefect beer... good seasonal companion to sierra nevada pale ale. kudos.

12 oz bottle dated 08/04/14. Pretty excited about how fresh it was. Was expecting a good amount of hop presence because of the description, but didn’t find much. The beer is all malty sweetness with some cooked vegetable aromas. Very disappointed.

Pours reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma is full of hops / citrus. Carbonation is a bit aggressive, biting hop finish.

Look: pours a light brown or dark red. Ver clear. Off white head. Smell: hops. Slight rye aroma. Caramel and toffee. Pine. Taste: pine. Slight sweetness. Slight bitterness on the back but not over whelming. Hint of smokiness. Heavy malt flavor. Feel: not as dry as most IPAs. Overall: ok beer. Look for more hops personally, but still good. Very sweet for an IPA. Looking for more hops. First drank: home 8/30/14

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness and pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, earthiness, pine and a hint of fruitiness with a smooth dry bitter lingering caramel finish.

Bottle. A: Dark red with a foamy creme head. Nice lacing. N: Deep hops - pine and grapefruit, leafiness and biscuit. Touch of herbs, lemongrass and some coriander. T: Well bittered. Touch of sweetness. M : Medium body, light stickiness. O: Red IPA? Whatever they want to call it. This is a worthy quaff. Better than a couple IRAs like Dogfish or Double Mountain.

Pailhead (4783) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - AUG 29, 2014
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate pine, lighter citrus, light tropical fruits, and a hint of toasty notes. It pours a transparent amber with a two finger beige head that eventually fades to a thick film. There is a lot of soapy rings left on the sides of the glass, The flavor starts with a quick dose of light-moderate tropical fruits with a hint of caramel. The finish has moderate pine, lighter citrus/grapefruit hops, and a touch of toastiness. It’s light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark red with tall, long lasting white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, caramel malt and tropical fruit. Body is medium and tangy. Citrusy, piney and earthy hops dominate the palate while caramel malt and ripe fruit provide support. Finish is long and grapefruity. Very good, hoppy brew.

Been looking forward to this one, so it only compounds the disappointment. Looks beautiful when poured, but the beer itself is barely mediocre...it that. Skip the six, grab a single in a pick. Chalky and sour...very surprised and disappointed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft pour into a pint glass. Pours a darker amber with a beige head of velvety foam. Decent retention. The aroma is papery, pine, herbal. Taste is lightly bitter and a little bit sweet. I get aittle bit of honey and skunk when I really dig in. The mouthfeel is fizzy, as I would expect. Lively carbonation. Not really one of Sierra Nevada’s better beers.
