COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

Bottle from DBS. Pours a brown color with a slightly red hue. I was surprised at how balanced it was. Slight bitter hop followed up with a smooth finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a dark amber/brown with a slightly off white head. Aroma is light caramel, light pine, brown bread maltiness. Medium body, medium carbonation. Light pine, lemon, grapefruit, light woodiness, orange... Nice woody bitter finish. OK.

Bottle, poured into glass. Brownish-red with tan head, floral, citrus, lightly bitter, lively, bitter, long finish, medium body, an overall good ipa.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass a amber red with a tall beige head. Aroma is mild roasted citrus hops. Flavor is almost a buttery nut sweetness with a bold bitter finish. Malty enough but not over the top. The body of this brew is medium & not too heavily carbonated. Not a huge red ale fan but this seasonal I seek out for the transition from summer to fall beers. Certainly a worthy red ale.

Naturally, Iíve had this beer before, but since Iím back Iíll rate it. Pours from 12 oz bottle a clear deep red/amber with an off-white head and nice lace. Modest aroma of earthy hop, Scottish field grass, generous bready malts and hints of peppery spice. The flavour is of bitter hops forward with grapefruit, pine and something spicy. The malt base is very aggressive and complex with malts that are every bit as assertive as the hops: I get caramel, toffee, rye bread, nuts and earthiness. The palate seems a bit light but it really works well overall, which to me makes it easy to drink. IMO well done.

16oz draft into bubble pint. I really enjoyed this beer, itís super drinkable. Pours an amber red with a light light tan head. Aromas of lemon, orange, caramel. Flavors of toasted caramel, rye malts, finished by a semi bitter citrus note. Great end of summer early fall beer. Medium light mouthfeel with medium high carbonation.

Pretty decent IPA. On draft at Funckís near Hershey. The Flipside poured a dark copper color with a nice off-white head. The head left some really awesome lacing around the inside of the glass. The nose was well-balanced, with floral hops and plenty of malt. The flavors and body were balanced, too, with notes of spicy and floral hops, caramel and bready malts. Delicious finish.

12 oz bottle dated 08/04/14. Pretty excited about how fresh it was. Was expecting a good amount of hop presence because of the description, but didnít find much. The beer is all malty sweetness with some cooked vegetable aromas. Very disappointed.

Pours reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma is full of hops / citrus. Carbonation is a bit aggressive, biting hop finish.

Look: pours a light brown or dark red. Ver clear. Off white head. Smell: hops. Slight rye aroma. Caramel and toffee. Pine. Taste: pine. Slight sweetness. Slight bitterness on the back but not over whelming. Hint of smokiness. Heavy malt flavor. Feel: not as dry as most IPAs. Overall: ok beer. Look for more hops personally, but still good. Very sweet for an IPA. Looking for more hops. First drank: home 8/30/14

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness and pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, earthiness, pine and a hint of fruitiness with a smooth dry bitter lingering caramel finish.
