COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

Clear garnet pour with a 2 finger, frothy beige head that has great retention. Aroma is earthy, grassy, citrus and pine hops, woody, husky grain and something of a strange floral note. Flavor is woody, husky grain, fallen leaves, woody tannin-like notes, grassy, pine and herbal hops, some crusty bread and light caramel sweetness. Light to medium, dry body with a slightly chalky feel and medium strength, sharp carbonation. Decent, but has a bitter, planty undertone all over that doesn’t really work for me. Tastes like maybe they used all of the expensive hops listed, but neglected to use any hops at all late enough in the boil to add much flavor or aroma on the more vibrant side of the hoppy spectrum that Citra and Centennial suggest. I might try this again to see if it smoothes out a bit as some of the strange planty notes could just be a little IPA greenness.

Looks really great with a fine hazy amber body and a fine tan head. Nice lacing. Inviting aroma. Grapefruit hoppy, bready and fruity. Medium + body. Tad sweet and a fine bitterness. Lovely flavor. Fruity, grapefruit hoppy, malty and bready. Wonderstuff.

Poured in the glass it has a reddish brown color with a medium head. The aroma has some tropical fruits with some pine. Taste has more citrus with some herbs. Average beer.

Dark reddish amber with a nice beige head. This being a little old, I assume most of the hops have faded. The aroma has some chewy caramel malt, and subtle tropical fruit, and floral hop notes. The flavor is pretty mellow as well. Some sharp carbonation. Will have to try fresh.

Keg at the White Horse, Parsons Green. Fairly malty, hints of caramel and banana, alcohol content noticable, and a big hit of hops to balance. Good beer.

November 21, 2014. Bottle at home. Clear red with a dense creamy off-white head. Aroma is faint caramel, citrus, pine. Taste is light to medium sweet toffee, medium grassy and piney bitterness. Finish is a bit watery with a light/medium bitter and a touch of caramel. Light to medium bodied, average carbonation.

On tap at Birratrovo in Como. Extremely enjoyable well balamced ipa, aromatic and hoppy, but wih no exaggeration.

Draft... Pours clear and new penny-copper with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The aroma shares gooey caramel and a generous medley of citrus fruits. Full-bodied with dancing carbonation. The flavor is a bittersweet blend of caramel and citrus fruit. Finishes hoppy, but moreso malty with a sugary aftertaste.

Bottle from systembolaget. Copper with a big, long lasting, off-white head. Aroma is piny, fruit and citrus notes. Malty, tastes of caramel, toffee and fruit. Hops feel a bit faded, so does the bitterness - although it is there. Dry, medium body, weak-medium carbonation. Rather flat, bitter finish. I usually like what SN does, but this just felt pretty meh. Might be a bit old?

355ml bottle thanks to djoeye for sharing. Dense, bubbly, fawn coloured head that stayed well over a misty amber coloured body. Good lacing. Malt-fruity aroma with fruity hops to the fore. Nice flavour profile of red orange, forest, caramel and almond. Smooth fruity bitterness to the finish. Rounded on the palate. Fine bodied. Likable (Tromsø 05.12.2014).
