COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

Clear garnet pour with a 2 finger, frothy beige head that has great retention. Aroma is earthy, grassy, citrus and pine hops, woody, husky grain and something of a strange floral note. Flavor is woody, husky grain, fallen leaves, woody tannin-like notes, grassy, pine and herbal hops, some crusty bread and light caramel sweetness. Light to medium, dry body with a slightly chalky feel and medium strength, sharp carbonation. Decent, but has a bitter, planty undertone all over that doesn’t really work for me. Tastes like maybe they used all of the expensive hops listed, but neglected to use any hops at all late enough in the boil to add much flavor or aroma on the more vibrant side of the hoppy spectrum that Citra and Centennial suggest. I might try this again to see if it smoothes out a bit as some of the strange planty notes could just be a little IPA greenness.

Aroma you can pick up some fruits from the hops. Smells a lot like the torpedo, but more fruit. Pours red with a off white colored head. Taste similar to the Torpedo. Fairly bitter. Good beer would buy again.

Bottle. Pours a light reddish brown color. Foamy white head. Aroma is definite hops, some citrus and pine. It says it has rye but that doesn't necessarily come across on the nose. It does however come across in the flavor. Hoppy and dry. Nice flavor and finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark red with a tight, lacing white and grey head. Strong floral nose, citrus, spruce. Aroma of floral hops, caramel malts. Soe coffee taste, which is unexpected.

Poured a light copper color with aromas of caramel, light bitterness and some fruit. Flavors are the same, light grapefruit, malt, and some bitterness, decent overall.

Appearance is a dark, ruby/brown, a two-finger beige foamy head which settles into half a finger. Clings a bit. Aroma- very fruity- orange and grapefruit, with hints of dark fruit such as blackberries. Malty, yeasty undertones. Taste- hop bitterness, raisin hints, malts, toast with marmalade, nice mouthfeel with a short finish. Tasty.

12 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out bready malts and some resinous hops - nothing special. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready malt and resinous hops. Not the most sophisticated balance, but it’s pretty well constructed. Overrated, but okay.

Bottle thanks to Eugene. Pours a clear copper with small white head that lasts. The aroma is fruity malt and caramel. Medium mouth, bitter, caramel, grapefruit, good.

Bottle - Nice hops and caramel malts. Clear copper with a decent white. Nice hops with a nice hop bite. Pretty standard hoppy red.
