COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2014 Deep red pour. Sweetish start, lots of malt (not so much rye). Simcoe and Citra hops really come through. Creamy body, bitter finish. Good. Not sure what happened over the year, but this went from a really good rating last year, to pretty bad this year--not a pleasant after taste at all. No head. Meh.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a big citrus aroma with caramel and pine tossed in. Appearance- Pours a dark yellow to copper color with a red tint has a small white head. Taste- Has that "SN" hop explosion! Great flavor. Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Has a dry finish with a nice hop bite aftertaste. Overall- A real good IPA, i would drink this again and often.

I don’t know if I got a bad batch or what but this is the worst beer I have ever had from Sierra Nevada. I like and or love their other stuff, especially some of those beer camp editions last year. But this one has a harsh almost caustic note that punches through all the other flavors making it undrinkable.

Bottle at beach. Pretty nice overall. Dark amber body- not much head. Really well balanced but hops hit all the right notes. Caramel, toffee and fresh baked bread upfront and then pine, citrus, spice, earth and some resin. Really smooth. Nice bitterness on finish but not overly so. Decent but fails to reach realm of I-really-need-another-one-of-those.

Rated on 9-30-2013 (Bottle from Krogers Marketplace (Fort Wayne, IN) This beer’s appearance is a medium size smooth ivory head, transparent amber body, lively, fast rising carbonation observed, and spotty amounts of lacing. This beer’s aroma is malt, citrus, pine hops, grassy, earthy, and a suggestion of spice. The flavor is lightly bitter, malt, citrus, pine hops, and earthy. The mouthfeel is spritzy and this beer is medium bodied. A quaffable IPA with a nice hop flavor that is worth trying.

clear amber colour, 1.5 inches of yellowish off white head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma and taste of resiny-citrussy hops and caramel-toast maltyness as well as some passion fruit; excellent red IPA
