COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flipside Red IPA is a rebuttal to the mild-mannered beers of summer. Tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors from the use of whole-cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops are the perfect notes for this in-between season.

It’s a typical IPA, good enough. At the same time, I am quickly getting tired of the taste of IPA’s and APA’s. They are leading me to appreciate Stouts and Porters even more.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Flipside pours a mostly clear strawberry orange with a decent creamy beige head that lasts a fair while. The aroma is pine, floral, biscuit and honey. The flavor is floral, pine and biscuit. The body is medium with light carbonation. Overall this is a decent beer.

Light/medium aroma with bit sweeter dark fruits. Deep reddish orange color with small natural white head. Clear liquid. Medium/strong, quite dry taste with dark fruits, some malty notes and bit bitter feeling. Balanced. Medium taste spectrum and long bit sweet fruity and hoppy aftertaste. Medium/light body with medium carbonation. Overall quite stylish and balanced product, but too dry and dark for me.

Bottle. Deep amber in color with an off-white head. Ripe garden fruityness, sweet tea leafs and slightly burnt brown sugar in aroma. Citrus fruityness, some bitterness and green herbalness in taste. Sweet notes as well. Probably better as fresh, enjoyed on the premises, and not aired overnight.

Pour on tap at Black Bottle, dark orange-red pour with slightly off white head, aroma brought notes of grain, toast, and caramel into orange jam, some red fruits into a bit of spice, herbal hops. Taste was a mix of grass, pine, and orange into some sweet fruit, caramel, some spicy notes in there as well, finishing bitter.

Bottle. Pours an auburn brown with a nice-looking, yellowish brown head. Aroma is light with some pine. Taste is light too, some pine and caramel. Probably rather old unfortunately.
