Foam is a German-style Pilsner, light bodied and easy drinking, yet loaded with flavor. Brewed with a mix of European and American malts, balanced by a spicy, and herbal hop kick. Brewed specifically for Phish festivals, Foam is a crisp and refreshing traditional pale gold lager beer. In the words of Phish— “I’m looking through, And it all would be, So crystal clear, If it wasn’t for the foam.” Great music, great beer, and good times.

Location: Draft from State Line, 11/4/14

Aroma: The aroma is clean pilsener malts, bread, and a little spice
Appearance: It pours a golden color with a decent amount of white head on top
Flavor: Tastes along the same lines, clean and malty, cereal, caramel, spice, and light bitterness
Palate: The body leans light, with a smooth, clean feel, and a crisp, lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid example of the style in my opinion. It is easy drinking and light bodied without being overly watery. Not an amazing beer, but something I’d happily drink in many situations.

Draft at Madrone’s in Frederick, MD. Served in a pils glass, clear golden color with white head. Aroma of pale malt sweetness, grain and faint grassy/herbal hop note. Taste adds notes of straw, cereal and light earthy hops. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp with clean finish. Pretty nice straight forward pils.

Finale totalement noble. Facile, bonne mais pas spectaculaire.

Sampled at the mothership on 9/16/2014. This Pilsner pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is cereal and sweet, with a touch of grain and grass. A medium to light bodied pilsner. The malts are cereal and sweet. The hops are earthy and slightly spicy. Nice balance. Good carbonation. A very nice and easy drinkable pilsner. Great summer beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

On tap at Final Gravity. Pours Blonde with a nice white head and a light malt herbal aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor with a dry slightly finish.

On tap at the West End. Not too happy about the description, but I don’t like jam bands. Clear yellow pour with a fizzy white head. As solid as expected. Crushed the shit outta this pint.

Lots and lots of pils malt in the nose with a bit of a grassy hop note. Clean, semisweet pils with nice bitterness and good kick of hops, not as intensely hoppy as something like Prima but the malt character is excellent. Really good, one of the best Pils I’ve had (and I’ve rated some damn good ones recently).

Tap. Light yellow pour, lasting 1/4 inch head and an aroma of corn and a little hops. Flavor is slightly sweet hay, mellow malt and slightly sweet and bitter on the finish.
