A complex and versatile new hop.

Our history with Equinox hops stretches back well before this newly developed varietal ever had a name. We were the first brewery in the world to get our hands on the intense and nuanced hop. We fell in love with the complex aromas ranging from bright and citrusy to herbal and woody, with a top note of fruity, garden-fresh bell pepper. Equinox is part of our five-bottle Harvest series, which features single hop, fresh hop, wet hop, and wild hop beers.

I did not enjoy this beer, for an IPA there is zero hops on the nose, it pours like a miller lite w extra head. Absolutely no bitterness or hop flavor whatsoever, Almost had a seltzer water aftertaste, very disappointed, main stream breweries cant quite get the IPA style down properly, I would keep Sierra Nevada WAY out of the micro brewery category.

[Bottle (660ml)] Pours a lightly hazy golden-orange with a large lasting foamy white head and some lacing on the glass. Spicy hop aroma, a bit grainy, floral and earthy too and backed by caramel malt. Flavour follows but is more fruity then spicy. Medium bodied. Not one of my favourite hops but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Pour on tap at the Woodman, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, biscuit, some slight lemon, earth, bread, touch of orange. Taste is a mix of orange, grass, bread, some slight lemon into a bit of earth, grain, finishing bitter, dry,

Bottle. Slightly hazy orange pour with a smaller white head. Woodsy. Hint of floral. I do get some green pepper in here, and it’s going great with this salsa I’m crushing. Nice brew.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours dark gold with a white head. Taste hop, sweet, pine. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Madrones in Frederick, MD. Served in a tulip glass, clear orange-golden color with off-white head. Aroma of strong fruity citrus/pine hops; some grass and floral notes. Taste is more fruity/citrus hop bitterness and some pepper/herbal notes. Light-medium body, low-moderate carbonation, oily, dry with fruity/citrus hop bitterness lingering. Strong yet simple IPA, good.

Draft to snifter. Looks good; a cloudy apricot with foamy off-white head. Smells grassy, piney, and citrusy with a bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells, but not quite as robust, and without the grassiness; still enjoyable though. Smooth on the palate with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. An enjoyable single-hopped IPA.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 11/23/14

Aroma: The aroma has some citrus hops, it is earthy as well, with some floral notes
Appearance: The color is orange, with a clean sheet of beige head that leaves spotty lacing
Flavor: Flavor-wise, it has a mild sweetness, an earthy mid-palate, and a lasting bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a smooth feel, average carbonation, and a long, dry finish
Overall Impression: I found this to be plenty solid. This one is not quite as good for me as the normal Southern and Northern Hemispheres, but still a beer I enjoyed quite a bit.
