Commercial Description:
Our Harvest Ale was the first American beer ever brewed with 100% fresh picked, "wet hops." In just one day, we harvest hops in Yakima, WA, ship them that night to our brewery in Chico, CA, and then rush them into the brew kettle as they are unloaded at dawn the next day.

This extraordinary effort creates a beer with unmatched aromatics of pine and citrus with layers of spicey sweet notes that hop fanatic like us dream of all year. Enjoy!

just got the 16 oz sierra tulip glasses so i stopped at the lq on the way home from work and found the last 2008 Harvest in the store..pine aroma and taste with malts that were definitely present more than usual in ipa’s that i’ve tasted but could be the hop’s wearing off a little bit since it was brewed in late aug.08....overall still an excellent ipa, looking forward to this years...

"Mahogany body with a thick tan cap, strange looking for an IPA. Lots of sticky roapy lacing hanging from the sides of my glass. Hoptastic aroma, candies peaches, mild grapefruit, and some dust, and something I can’t identify but it seems to hold back the intensity of the aroma. Standard west coast IPA taste but of a higher quality. Bitter peach toasted malts, extremely full flavored beer. Soap appears in the finish but mildly. What the this last sip tasted like the smell of the diaper shelf at safeway. Good IPA high quality but nothing really to wow about it."

(Bottle, 2008 harvest) Amber colour with firm, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of pine needles, orange peel, grapefruit and fresh hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with pine needles, resin, citrus peel, grapefruit, caramel and generous doses of fresh hops in a long bittersweet finish. Slightly above medium body. Lovely beer with a fresh and tasty hop character.

24 oz bottle from local grocery. Deep amber pour with 2 inch off white head. Aroma a good blend of caramel malt and grassy hops. Flavor much the same, possibly a little too muted for me. Earthy hop notes as well.
