I was anxious to finally find this unique SN gem and luckily I did. The idea of "wet hops" really struck a chord with me considering many of my favorite IPAs or Pale Ales for that matter are made from pelleted hops. The oils from the day-old hops really make this beer taste "wet," like drinking a complex concoction of hop goodness with the light-hearted fluidity of water. And my goodness, what a head on this beer! The lacing told the story of my easy-drinking on this gem, as lines were left from top to bottom. Almost perfect. UriahHeep (103), Georgia, USA May 14, 2009 On tap @ Taco Mac. Pours a light orange sunset color with compact white head. Hoppy and delicious. Nice balance between caramel malt sweetness and a citrusy hop bouquet. Pleasantly fragrant, with a full-bodied taste that matches the aroma for hoppiness. Fruity notes like mango and grapefruit. Another delicious IPA from Sierra Nevada. Bitterness is not a big factor in this brew. Just one 16 oz. shaker glass full got me a nice buzz and left my palate happy. yemenmocha (344), Glendale, Arizona, USA May 13, 2009 Pours medium amber with light tan head. Nose is soft with light toffee and citrus. Palate offers a good balance of toasty/biscuity malt with the rather tame hops of pine & citrus character. Somewhat sweet on the finish, and very drinkable. petematte46 (212), Dallas, Texas, USA May 8, 2009 pours honey amber with a medium white head. Aroma is faint clean citrus with a slight hint of cherries. Mouthfeel is effervescent with brief malty fullness that is quickly supplanted with fresh piney hops tokyogoat (505), San Diego, California, USA May 7, 2009 Pour looked just like every other IPA. Smelled of hops and earthy tones and grass.
Was not that powerful in the hop department, kind of a let down. It didnt taste any more hoppy than their standard Pale Ale.
pilsnerrogge (1770), Finspång, Sweden May 1, 2009 Bottled: Appearance: Dark amber/orange with a slight haze. Big, rocky head. Good lacing. Aroma: Leafy, resiny hops. Flavour: Loads of resiny hops, long bitterness. Palate: The long hoppy bitterness makes this beer very more-ish.. Overall: Maybe not the most complex IPA, but definitley worth looking for.
