JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Apr 5, 2009 24oz bottle. Semi-cloudy amber pour with a medium off-white head. Hoppy aroma with a somewhat caramelly malt character. Bitter hop aroma with a touch of malt and a lingering bitter finish. Not bad by any means, but lacking the crisp citrus character I like in my hoppy beers. I definitely favor the Southern Hemisphere Harvest over this one. 944play (64), Santa Rosa, California, USA Mar 28, 2009 24oz in De Koninck glass. Pours brilliant red with abundant fluffy off-white head. Toasty and red-peppery notes. Sierra’s bright, sulfate-driven house flavor is there. Lots of caramalt sweetness but substantial bitterness to hold up to it. Reminds me of Arrogant Bastard. You know what’s missing, though? Hop character. I’ll take a Celebration next time. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Mar 26, 2009 24 oz. bottle. Thanks to my pops for sharing this with me! This poured a clear, dark amber, with big fluffy head. The aroma is nice and piney, and is actually quite refreshing. This had a subtle sweetness in addition to classic IPA flavors and aromas that made it unique. Great beer from a great brewer! Cheers! thill25 (216), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 22, 2009 Bottle...pours dark amber with a full off white head that shimmies its way down the glass sip after sip. The aroma was pine and citrus laden hops. Surprisingly, the flavor wasn’t all about the bitter. This was well balanced effort balanced out with some caramel tasting malts. I expected to be blasted by bitter hops all the way through this beer, but the bitterness only lingered for a bit. The subtle hop flavors would come in and out of each sip and just fade off the palate. Light bodied, mild carbonation, and easy to drink. My kind of IPA! Wellestone (17), Andover, Minnesota, USA Mar 20, 2009 Pours a nice orange with some red highlights and a very nice 2-3 finger off-white head that stuck around and laced up nice. NOT as hoppy either in taste OR aroma as I anticipated. That being said, nice and piney with very little citrus and well-balanced with some caramel malts. There is a bit of alcohol in the finish. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Very very nice beer but it could do with some more hop bitterness to make it more interesting. luv2brew (177), Chesterfield, Virginia, USA Mar 20, 2009 Soft white head that lingers for a while. You can really smell the hops on this one in front of an earthy malt nose. The beer is malty with an earthy hop nose. There is a sharp bitterness on the end that disappears at the end of the drink. Unlike a lot of Sierra Nevda, you can taste the alcohol in this one, but overall a great brew. johndoughty (2150), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Mar 18, 2009 Bottle. Not as hoppy as i had anticipated.
