Aroma is very hoppy and mildly sweet with grass, grapefruit. Clean hop flavor, and sweet. Very drinkable, and thirst quenching. Medium bodied and smooth. Though the finish is hoppy, it retains some of the sweetness. Lots of lacing on the glass. hophead21112 (117), Louisville (LEWISville), Colorado, USA

Hoppy pine aroma with a little sweet to it. Balanced mouth. Medium carbonation and slightly creamy on the tongue. Nice spice. Good beer. Grizzle (44), Lawrence, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 11, 2009 Served in English styled pint glasses, shared with my wife. Pours a fairly orangish brown, with medium-light opacity. The head dissipates fairly quickly, tho it leaves a nice lacing on my glass. The distinctive smell this beer has is of nuts. Pecans, maybe? Definitely a lightly roasted, buttery nut quality. This, in addition to the mild hops, fruity, floral sugars, and slight note of cinnamon. Taste continues the nuttiness, with a sharper bite from the hops, and more pronounced sweetness from malts. It’s interesting that this beer has both bitter and sweet, but it’s what I would say is a great example of balance. Still, a great beer. Nebulor (109), , California, USA

Smell of caramel malt with some hop esters.
Has a crisp caramel malt taste with orange, grapefruit, and tea flavored hops.
Has a sweet medium/moderate bodied palate with a nice finish.
Very drinkable I buy one everytime I see it available. nickd717 (1330), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Nice one. Cloudy amber color with an off-white head that lasts. Aroma is mostly fresh piney hops (Cascade I’d guess), taste is more malty but also hits you with some hops on the finish. Very crisp and drinkable, hops taste very fresh. mcjay (303), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA

Slightly cloudy copper color with an amazingly foamy off white head that lasts until the glass is gone. Hops with a hint of pine on the nose. Flavor starts of very smooth and a little sweet but has a very dry finish. Strong on hops with a bit of a bite, slightly bitter with a mild hint of caramel malt. A- Pours a striking red/orange hue with limited visibility, head is three fingers of off-white creamy goodness with good retention, big thick lacing left all over the glass, wonderful!
S- Nose is (of course) full of oily, resinous, fresh hops that are complex and refreshing, citrus (grapefruit-heavy) and pine dominate the olfactories, some balancing bread and biscuit malts float in the background, freshness is dominant
T- Initial taste is dominated by a rising crescendo of fresh hops with a primarily grapefruit and pine taste profile, followed by some floral/herbal tones and spice, a touch of caramel and bready malts arrive in the midpoint, and the finish is subtle hop dryness with a hint of sweetness
M- Medium-bodied ale with oily and creamy texture, coats the tongue and mouth fully, lively carbonation
D- I am used to hoppy ales driving up the abv, but at just over 6% this is definitely a sessionable beer; a truly unique and complex Pale Ale dominated by fresh, delicious hop flavor that doesn’t trample over your senses unclegeorge (7), , Indiana, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 8, 2009 Nice orange-brown color with a good tan head. Just the right amount of hops and a bit of bitterness. A nice consistency too.
