AndyReynolds (280), Wilder, Kentucky, USA Dec 14, 2008 12th Release. Pours an amber color with a thick white head. Aroma is strong with grassy hops with notes of citrus. Great balance and finishes with a nice bitter bite. A great choice. Dmalone102 (216), Denver, Colorado, USA Dec 14, 2008 Absolute hoppy enjoyment.
Beautiful amber color with phenominal clarity and a nice head with good lacing. The malt profile is nutty and balances the hop bitterness well.
Buy it. Nimrod979 (11), Hagerstown, Maryland, USA Dec 13, 2008 24 oz. bottle. 12th release. Pours a rich, clear, amber color with a frothy white head that lingers a while. Smells of citrus, spruce, grassy notes. Very balanced hop taste, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, almost a bit of a sweetness to it. Probably my favorite so far from Sierra Nevada. Moggman (187), Columbus, Ohio, USA Dec 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with white head. Aroma is pine and citrus of hops. Flavor is subdued hops, with pine notes and mild citrus flavor. Slight caramel undertones in the finish. punkrkr27 (606), Berkley, Michigan, USA Dec 10, 2008 Copper pour with a long lasting rocky white head. Caramel apple, pine, grapefruit and slight spice aroma. Fresh fruit, grass, and caramel flavor with a slightly lingering pine. Soft creamy medium body. Much more well balanced and subtle hop presence than Sierra Nevadas usually sharp and aggressive hop profile IPAs. JAXSON (229), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 9, 2008 Kind of odd 24 oz bottle...don’t know if I’ve ever seen one of those before. Pours a clear, deep amber with a faintly reddish tinge. Preety big soapy head. Average aroma of hops, slight pine oil. Bitter hops in the mouth, quite drinkable and pleasant, though not powerful or especially interesting. A fine drinker. Makes me miss Dreadnaught more than anything else. dwaggs2 (531), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Dec 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a darker orange color with a long lasting white head that leaves some lacing on the side of the glass. Smell is pine and hops. Taste is hops and it leaves a little bitter aftertaste. A really good beer. A must for hop lovers. branspra (204), Arlington, Virginia, USA Dec 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a very large, white, frothy head. Lacing is very strong, almost amazing. Smell is hops, more hops, and a few more hops. Additional aromas of brown sugar and citrus from the hops. Full, creamy, complex texture in the mouth with a wonderful flavor. Highly recommend this beer.
