Commercial Description:
Our Harvest Ale was the first American beer ever brewed with 100% fresh picked, "wet hops." In just one day, we harvest hops in Yakima, WA, ship them that night to our brewery in Chico, CA, and then rush them into the brew kettle as they are unloaded at dawn the next day.

This extraordinary effort creates a beer with unmatched aromatics of pine and citrus with layers of spicey sweet notes that hop fanatic like us dream of all year. Enjoy!

Bottle. Pours a coppery amber with little head. Aromas are thin... mostly an apple juice sweetness and I’m looking around for hops and coming up empty handed. Flavor is pretty hoppy... citrus and pine are sharp and crisp, but every now and again it comes across as a bit thin, like there is not quite enough malt body. Still, it is pretty good.

Amber, mildly hazy, with a large tan topper that slowly fades. Aroma of citrus, dough, sweet malt, pine, light sugar. Perhaps it’s the power of suggestion, but those hops do smell (and taste) very fresh. Taste of citrus and woodsy hops with pine and sweet malt to balance it out. Body is a little stick but the beer is pretty solid throughout. Something to look forward too every fall!

Bottle. Clear deep reddish-orange with sudsy tan head that leaves loads of lacing. Nose is hot and herbal. Strong wet hop aroma is bright, fresh, inviting. Mouthfeel is great and quaffable, soft medium level of carbonation. Good body. Very herbal flavors, like a bhang lassi minus the lassi. Still has some residual sweetness. Super drinkable with immense session potential, which would be dangerous because it goes down very well.

Sweet body with strong bittering hops to back it up. Very resinous heavy hopping, fresh tasting. Great color, thick head, smooth sticky mouthfeel. Pretty well balanced, very good overall.

Nutty brown color with a soapy head. Rich-looking in the glass, with a pungent pine aroma -- great for getting into the holiday season. Lots of sharp acidic notes with a mellowing spice background. This beer applies piney coats of flavor to the palate -- never too sweet or sticky. A very nice seasonal IPA.

Labeled as 12th Anniversary Wet Harvest, served from a 24 (?!?) ounce bottle. Big pine and citrus hop nose up front. More happening in the flavor. Loads of juicy grapefruit, but lacks the aggressive bitter finish of most IPAs. I don’t think I’ve experienced something so drinkable, with such an incredibly intense hop presence. If you want to introduce someone to big hops and they don’t like bitterness, this is the beer to do it with.
