mekjubaksa (17), Houston, Texas, USA Nov 2, 2008 Bottle. We had the 12th Release Harvest Wet Hop Ale. Not sure if it was the ’’wet hop’’ process, but the aroma and palate were exceptionally smooth, creamy and full of earthy flavors. Great character that doesn’t over-power what you’re eating. ahalloin (54), Arlington, Virginia, USA Nov 1, 2008 I had this on cask at the Brick in DC. It poured a really dark reddish brown with a full head of mostly tiny bubbles. Aroma was mostly dark malts, brown sugar with slight notes of pine and citrus peaking around the full bodied aroma. The flavor was much the same with a decent amount of hop flavor with complex sweet notes like raspberry and raisins. Interesting beer. boto (1319), Granby, Connecticut, USA Nov 1, 2008 Bomber, 2008 Harvest: This one pours a slightly hazy, orangish-amber color. There was quite a bit of a frothy off-white head on it, but it dropped away quickly. It did leave a decent amount of lacing. Nice hop blast to the nose. Mainly pine, but tempered with some citrus. The taste is very good. Pretty hoppy, but not over-done. A faint touch of sweetness up front. Very well balanced. jb (1024), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 31, 2008 This one is top notch, well almost. Dark orange look, rather filtered, with a thick head, great lacing. Aroma is mostly pine. Palate is the best part. Smooth, creamy, yet resinous. Starts sweet, ends dry. I’d call it well balanced. cmillward (419), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 31, 2008 Bomber. Pours copper with a nice fuzzy white head, sticks around and leaves a fair amount of lacing all over the glass. Gentle but firm juicy hop aroma. Its part citrus and part pine, some sweet fresh grass clippings, catch glimpses of malt sweetness. Sweet with toasted malt, gorgeous hoppy citrus end, meld very well with the underlying malt sweetness. Very little astringent hop bitterness blasting you, but a satisfying bitterness is there and really tames the apparent sweetness. Very nice mouthfeel with medium carbonation, fairly crisp, good bitterness. KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Oct 31, 2008 Pours a really nice clear amber color with about a finger’s worth of off-white head. Aroma is a little subdued, but there’s some nice citrus hops in there. Flavor is juicy citrus, orange and tangerine with a nice mix of cut lawn and a touch of sweet malt. This is a tasty beer. Very nice IPA. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Oct 31, 2008 Updated: Nov 16, 200812th release bottle. Poured a clear dark amber color with a two finger tan head. Aroma of cut grass, weeds, earth and caramel, with citrus notes as well. Flavor was a delicious balance between malt and hop, with an extra earthy character here as well. Medium body with good carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. Very pleased! Bungalo22 (326), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Oct 30, 2008 Had from the bottle and poured into a tulip glass. Pours an amber color with a nice, one finger head that sticks around for quite a bit. The aroma is hoppy and sweet and nice combination. On taste it is full bodied, hoppy and spicy - very nice. It may be hoppy it is also a nice balance and nice and smooth on the palate. Impressed.
