Vas19 (293), Maryland, USA Oct 19, 2008 Pours an orange amber with an off-white head. Ridiculous hop aroma, mainly grass and pine, not too much fruit. Flavor is more of the hops but with a lot of spice as well. Not bitter at all. I wish the obnoxious spice notes were a little better balanced. Still a solid beer though. carl4beer (394), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA Oct 19, 2008 24oz. pours copper with decent off white head. aroma is citrus and some fresh green. mouthful has a earthy grass hop that fades to citrus then a bitterness. much more robust than the southern hemi. oreogobbler (217), Austin, Texas, USA Oct 19, 2008 Barnyard aroma, grass, hay, weeds, caramel, and musk.
Pours a thick transparent amber red with a thick frothy head and decent carbonation.
Flavor is grassy and smooth: caramel, roastyness, and candy sweetness.
Palate is smooth and tasty, easily drinkable. gameface23 (131), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Oct 19, 2008 24 oz. bottle. Copper pour with a large, chunky, pillow of a head that lasted the entire length of the drink. The smell was great. Pine hops dominate the aroma, with a balancing act of sweet malts. The flavor is similar; well balanced with a slight peppery kick and great hop taste without being bitter at all. cakanator (41), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA Oct 19, 2008 bottle. Pours nice copper color. smooth little sweetness and great malt flavors. Overall I was impressed mostly because of dollar value and quality for a 24oz bottle. hoplover (166), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Oct 19, 2008 Iv’e been waiting to try this for a year now. And I’m glad I have it in my glass now. This heavenly harvest ale pours a beautiful clear light amber color, with a thick hefty ivory head that stays for the finaly. The head gives off the aroma ofpine and citrus, a little sweetness from the malt is detectable. THe head leaves a nice thick ring lace after each delightful drink. THe flavor is a little hint of spicy hops but mainly dominated by fresh piney and freshly sqeezed citrus notes. It is smooth on the palate. Just wonderful. Thank the Lord for the hop harvest! phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Oct 18, 2008 The 2008 batch just made it into wisc this week. Sampled at a Sierra Nevada tasting at my neighborhood package store, also got a bomber at home: Pours a cloudy copper colour with a big fluffy beige head. Aroma is floral, vibrant fruit, fresh hops with a hint of smoke. Taste is astringent, firm almost chewy. Buds, citrus fruit- ecspecially grapefruit. Berserkir (38), New York, USA Oct 17, 2008 Bottle pours a red copper with light tan head. Aroma is hops, citrus, light caramel and piney resin. Flavor is much of the same, but heavier on the resin and with a little sharpness. Decent maltiness. Very enjoyable.
