Commercial Description:
Our Harvest Ale was the first American beer ever brewed with 100% fresh picked, "wet hops." In just one day, we harvest hops in Yakima, WA, ship them that night to our brewery in Chico, CA, and then rush them into the brew kettle as they are unloaded at dawn the next day.

This extraordinary effort creates a beer with unmatched aromatics of pine and citrus with layers of spicey sweet notes that hop fanatic like us dream of all year. Enjoy!

Reddish, with a high. dimpled tan head. Aroma is piney, floral and sweet. Sweet, smooth, and clean, with a long biscuity flavor note. Bit of hop bitterness stings in the finish, but it is overall mildly hopped. $4/22oz

12th release Harvest Wet Hop Ale. Pours amber with a thick white head that never completely goes away. Aromas of grassy hops and slight floral spice. Taste is again grassy hops and floral. It has a nice chewy resinous mouthfeel. A delicious beer.

Has a nice amber color to it with a big fluffy 2 finger head, with some lacing on glass. Smell is hops and flowers, taste is excellent and well put together. Very good beer.

Not sure if this is the same beer, or not. The bottle I am having is called Chico Estate Harvest Wet Hop Ale, and the hops are specifically grown on the brewery grounds. Pours a thick foamy head, slight tan in color, which sits there without collapsing. Dark amber body with finite carbonation bubbles showing. While you can smell hops in the aroma, I’m a little surprised there was know dry hopping used to pump up the aromas. Flavor is very nice. Not a slap in the face flavor like lots of uber-IPAs tend to have. Perhaps the wet hopping is mellowing that out? Lots of hops lingering on the palate in the aftertaste. Again, somewhat muted in nature. Body not overly heavy. Very nice offering at a reasonable price ($3.99/btl at BevMo)

22 oz bottle shared with Mike while watching the Chargers kick NY Jets ass on Monday night. Very tasty IPA. Very fresh hoppy beer. Lots of flavor.

Fairly enjoyable but afriad I had this after a palate destroyer so might be a bad rateing. Smell was like a wild grass field after a rain storm. Good muddy earthiness and hop characters there. Taste gave me sweet hops and citrus fruit tartness that made my lips smack a little. Had to have this fromt he bottle for lack of a glass at the time but this may have been improved with some of the head int he pour. Has a lot of the features of a sam adams but done slightly better.

Pours a copper/gold into the glass with a nice white head. Aroma is very grassy and citrusy. Flavor is very grapefruit like and has quite a bit of astringency to me. I appreciate this beer for what it is but don’t find it ALL that enjoyable. Would rather have the Celebration or just the Pale Ale

22oz bottle, 1st release 2008. Pours a rich amber color with a pillowy beige head. Can definitely smell the earthiness, fresh hops with lemon and a sweet undertone. Hops from the get go with a hint of sweetness, close to honey, even some spices. Very rich mouthfeel with a smooth and drinakable finish. Teriffic and refreshing beer, definitely one of the better 2008 releases that I have had.
