natedoggkc (164), Lenexa, Kansas, USA Feb 5, 2008 Pours a deep amber with a nice white head. Aroma is piney and refreshing. Very nice fresh hoppy taste that isn’t overly bitter on the finish. pojo41 (315), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA Feb 4, 2008 Bottle. Poured a nice dark copper color. Good white head that left a nice lacing on glass. Excellent aroma of hops as you pour with just an undercurrent of malt. Flavor is initially dominated by the hops but, the malty biscuit flavor comes through to give it balance. Great mouthfeel makes this a truly excellent beer. It would be easy to drink a lot of these. First off I love this 24 ounce bottle. I don’t think I have ever had a 24 ounce bottle of beer.
Pours a crystal clear orange amber with a very nice sized crème head that has excellent staying power. Nose is very sticky, piney hops. Flavor is interesting. Kind of like a nice and thickly hopped ale with a leafy thing mixed in on the backend (to appease the whole "harvest" thing). Feel has a lot of carbonation to it and the liquid is pretty well bodied. Overall this is a good IPA. Definitely smooth and robust. The bite is a bit much on the bubble, but it is definitely worth going for. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Feb 3, 2008 Updated: Mar 1, 2008First rating (24 Fl oz bottle at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg) 2007 version. Slight shady amber color, small tan head. Fresh hoppe and cheese scent. Sticky, green hops taste, citrus and bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. The hops in the smell almost feel axidized, which is wierd. Also rose petals. Should probably be had more fresh. 7/3/8/4/15=3.7
Second rating (24 Fl oz bottle at Haket, Göteborg) 2007 version. On February 29, 2008 Clear copper color, big cream colored head. Very nice look! Had the head been a bit better loking it would have cought a 5 instead of a 4. Hoppy, floral, citrus scent. Bitter, hoppy, citrus and floral taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high to high bitterness. Bitter herbal aftertaste. 7/4/7/4/15=3.7 ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Feb 3, 2008 Updated: Sep 26, 2008Bottle (65 cl) at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg, Sweden. Clear deep amber with medium off-white head. Piney, floral, and slightly prefumy hop profile on a solid caramelly malt base, notes of peaches and apricots. Medium bodied with soft mouthfeel. Very well balanced with a long bitterness. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Feb 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized frothy white head. The aroma iscitrus, pine, sweet malt, and all very fresh. The flavor has a great balance between the bitterness of the hops and the sweet malt. Citrus, pine, caramel are all present. This is a very refreshing brew. Medium to full bodied. A pleasure to drink. wingman333 (233), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Feb 2, 2008 Heavy hops and refreshing, about what you’d expect from Sierra Nevada. Nice color and moderate bitterness. I hope to see this on the shelves again soon. Pastor (509), Maine, USA Feb 1, 2008 24 oz bottle poured into a standard pint glass produced a four finger billowy head on top of a pale amber body
Aromas of citrus and pine fill my nose
Flavors of hops, pine and citrus with a little sweetness in the end
Mild mouthfeel good carbonation
Good drinkability on this one but the 24oz’s is enough for one sitting, not a bad APA in all
