| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2009 24 oz bottle from Princeton’s, 13th release. Dark golden pour, thick puffy head, very nice lacing. Hoppy aroma with some piney elements to it. Flavor is not too bitter but still has great hops to it, the pine also comes through here as does the spice. Subtly bitter finish. Very smooth beer for all the hops going on in it. poisoneddwarf (167), Rathdrum, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2009 24 oz bottle. 13th release. Aroma of citrus, apricot, pine. Nice amber hue, good head retention and lacing. Nice even balance between malt and hops. Pleasant bitterness. Not as much character as I was expecting, however. Tastes pretty mild for the style. Good IPA, but not as good as their Torpedo or Anniversary Ales (both of which are in the IPA style as well). I was expecting something better than those given the size of the bottle and the touting of the label, but it’s much milder than those beers. Definitely good, just not excellent. truegen (164), Puyallup, Washington, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 10, 2009 24oz. bottle. Outstanding spicy floral aroma. Puffy beige head stayed atop the beer forever, leaving thick lace. Reddish gold in color--a very pretty beer. Taste is sharply tart, full of spicy citrus hops. The malt presence is a deeply buried semi-sweet, almost rooty backbone. The flavor clings to the tongue, but never presents anything off-balance. This has been one of my favorite beers!
