In just one day, we harvest hops in Yakima, WA, ship them that night to our brewery in Chico, CA, and then rush them into the brew kettle as they are unloaded at dawn the next day. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2009 24 oz. bottle from Grape & Gourmet (2009, 13th Release). Dark orange pour with a thick off-white head. Aroma is a punch in the face of pine and wet grass. Good bitter grapefruit rind flavor balanced with toffee and graham cracker sweetness. Aftertaste is a lingering piney hop bitterness. It has been my experience with this beer from years past to try it immediately upon its release and this is the first chance I have had to drink it. This is a good IPA. gpekar (223), Maryland, USA

The aromas were of pine and grapefruit. The initial taste was crisp and clean and it builds to a good hop bite. The flavors of grapefruit and pine come through in the taste as well. There is a nice underneath sweetness to balance the hops, that rolls to a good strong Sierra Nevada hop finish
