Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 4, 2007 Draft. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy giving it notes of grass and grapefruit. The flavor is also sweet and very hoppy - giving it notes of grass and grapefruit, but also with note of caramel. I also had this bottle, where I found it had lost some character, bottled scores 6/3/7/3/13=3.2 Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 9, 2007 (Bottle 72 cl) Courtesy of MaltOMeal. Vintage 2007. Clear, amber coloured with a small, off-white head leaving a neat lacework. Fresh, citrusy aroma. Medium body with a light caramel sweetness and again these fresh, citrusy hop accents that also leave a solid bitterness. Incredibly crisp and refreshing IPA. 021107 omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 18, 2004 Sampled draught at O’Briens, San Diego.
Clear nut bown. Somewhat restrained grapefruity hop aroma. Clean straight forward malt profile. Lingering salty bitter finish. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Nov 14, 2007 Updated: Nov 18, 2007From 24 fl oz bottle, blind tasting at Papsoes - beer no 4. Pours golden orange to light brown with diminished head. Lovely fruity aroma and with a base of caramel malt. Flavour is decent bitter on top of a sweet malt base. Ends in a nice caramel and hoppy blend with mild bitterness. Well balanced.7-4-7-3-15=3.6
24 fl oz. bottle, thanks to sunevdj. Pours clear orange with a diminishing light orange head. Fresh hoppy floral aroma and with a mild caramel malt base. Flavour is very fresh floral to fruity. Has a mild yet clear caramel malt base that stays dry due to the quite dominant hops. End has a very dry bitter and lovely floral hops flavour. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Oct 28, 2007 Updated: Nov 28, 20082008 - 12th Release. Bright amber with a beautiful rustic head. Bright aroma has tropical fruit, light wood, plus breadcrust. Rich earthy character, only a hint of fruitiness. Breadcrusty notes. Well-balanced. Solid, unspectacular quality.
Bottle, from malto Bright amber with a thick, rich head. Deep woody aroma with earth, caramel, mushroom. One of those "forest after it rains" kind of brews. The flavour is bitter foremost - slightly resiny, slightly piney, quite woody. There is a sweet edge to it from crystal malt that takes on a muscovado character. In the finish you get all of the above, plus a brighter tangerine or tangelo note as well...and a slight bit of stickiness and alcoholic warmth. A little more "amber" than I prefer my IPAs, perhaps due to the limited amount of bright notes, but it’s a quality brew nonetheless. 7-4-7-4-14 = 3.6
