A little less sweet and cloying than the regular SNPA so its about perfect for the style. A copper color with a moderate head. Flavor is perfectly balanced with some strong orange peel. Great stuff!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 4, 2008 This copper ale poured with a nice beige head, eliciting a floral aroma. Initially tastes like raw hops, but the flavor settles into a grapefruit-tinged caramel malt. It’s a bit carbonated and quite refreshing. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Big whompin’ 24 oz bottle. Clear, glowing, deep amber with a huge beige head that descends rockily, leaving a soap-film-like lace. Good carbonation, lots of bubbles race to the head. All makes for a very pretty beer. Sharp grapefruit nose, some pine, cut grass, a bit of toasty malt and bread. Strong bitter flavor initially, white grapefruit rind and very light caramel. As the palate becomes accustomed to the bitterness, a sweet maltiness emerges. The grapefruit rind makes a final appearance in the finish, a dry, smooth bitterness. Excellent. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Bottle from Utobeer. Copper coloured with a good sized, lasting, tight white head. Peppery hops dominate the aroma, quite alcoholic and a bit grainy. Smooth body and medium carbonation. Flavour is quite sweet malt and a big resinous hoppy finish. Well hidden alcohol, a touch of pepper and a little bit soapy. An enjoyable US IPA with plenty of hop aroma but not overdone bitterness. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 6, 2007 Served deep amber with a mostly holding, tan head that settles to a thick film & halo. Nice PNW aroma of citrus & pine (not as intense as a dry-hopped brew) with ever-so-light dishwater on the back end. Solid grapefruit flavor shows big bitterness with a sharp, peppery bite & finish. A little astringent in the end but this was a really fine APA that was competitive with spicy Cajun food and could fare well as an IPA.

Didn’t seem to have much of aroma, just light malt. Pretty light and smooth. Good amount of hops for a American Pale Ale. jeffc666 (1899), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 16, 2003 Clear copper with a very nice frothy white head. Excellent lacing. Wow this beer looks nice. Super fresh pure hop aroma. Floral with some malt but hops are the main attraction. Very smooth hop flavor. Not at all overwhelming and not too bitter but pure hop essence. Just enough malty sweetness to balance things out. Smooth medium body. Malt comes through on the palate and the aftertaste, including the burps, is pure hop nirvana. This is a truly spectacular beer.
