Commercial Description:
Our Harvest Ale was the first American beer ever brewed with 100% fresh picked, "wet hops." In just one day, we harvest hops in Yakima, WA, ship them that night to our brewery in Chico, CA, and then rush them into the brew kettle as they are unloaded at dawn the next day.

This extraordinary effort creates a beer with unmatched aromatics of pine and citrus with layers of spicey sweet notes that hop fanatic like us dream of all year. Enjoy!

Poured a cloudy orange/copper with a tall foamy tan head. The aromas were of pine and grapefruit. The initial taste was crisp and clean and it builds to a good hop bite. The flavors of grapefruit and pine come through in the taste as well. There is a nice underneath sweetness to balance the hops, that rolls to a good strong Sierra Nevada hop finish

Bottle: Had the 13th edition, good. Fresh, lots of hops has a nice just-harvested taste. Food Pairing: Fresh Margarita Pizza.

This beer pours a brownish copper color with a medium white head that dissipates quickly. The aromas are citrus, spruce, and earthy. The palate is quite dry and bitter on the front getting even more bitter at the end. This was a good beer! Cheers!

Hoppy - a bit dry. Rich and sharp. It’s not my favorite family of beers, but it is helping win me over.

great IPA. Nice nose of bitter hops, some citrus. Medium to full body for an IPA, well rounded flavor again with some citrus, great bold hop flavor, very smooth and clean finish. Slightly sweet, but not in a bad way, somewhat unique for IPA, which was nice.

I’m rating the 13th anniversary edition here. This beer’s taste registers in two primary stages: upfront, well balanced malts, followed by a progressively hoppy experience with a semisweet, semibitter finish. This beer tastes of quality, but perhaps even more important, balance. Thumb up!

ottimo l’aroma iniziale che poi piano piano lascia spazio ad un persistente amaro di luppolo.

2009 13th release, 24-oz bottle Marcello’s Lafayette, La - Aroma: citrus, pine, spicy (hop); Appearance: clear, reddish-amber color, off-white head, lots of laces; Flavor: sweet, salty (malt), bitter (hop); Mouthfeel: medium bodied, creamy texture, lively carbonation, bitter-dry finish; Overall: a beautiful clean, well balance of the hoppy and malty beer, such the beer is not over welled by the hops, with a nice crisp long-dry finish.
