A group of hop-heads and publicans challenged our Beer Camp (#19) brewers to push the extremes of whole-cone hop brewing. The result is this: a 100 IBU, whole-cone hurricane of flavor. Simply put- Hoptimum: the biggest whole-cone IPA we have ever produced. Aggressively hopped, dry-hopped and torpedoed with our exclusive new hop varieties for ultra-intense flavors and aromas.

Hops, hops and more hops are the stars of this big, whole-cone Imperial IPA. Resinous ‘new-school’ and exclusive hop varieties carry the bold and aromatic nose. The flavor follows the aroma with layers of aggressive hoppiness, featuring notes of grapefruit rind, rose, lilac, cedar and tropical fruit – all culminating in a dry and lasting finish.

Hazy copper, thin white head, sticky full body, medium carbonation.

Aroma: ton of resinous hops, simcoe, apricot, faint caramel malt.

Taste: loads of fresh sweet resinous hops (simcoe, pine, citrus, floral), alcohol, and a hint of caramel malt.

Ton of brilliant fresh hops, but not too bitter. A hop showcase with multi-variety complexity.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2013 Wow. Pretty extreme. Not for the light hop hearted. Everything you’d expect from this beer is there. Spruce. Light citrus. Well balanced, and especially good with about a year aged on it.

Tap @ Sierra Taphouse. Clear, rich honey color topped with a small white head that becomes a ring and laces delicately. Lovely aroma, sweet, fruity & floral hops. Fullish body, light carbonation (almost flat, caskish), balanced, not sticky. Sweet up front, very floral, flavors of peach, pineapple--which is closely tied into the alcohol--light citrus notes of orange, long bitter finish by plenty of sugars to carry the substantial hops. Very yummy.

bottled. Golden super hop elixir. Pervasive bitterness fights against sweet heat. Hazy grass & other super funk flavors.

Bottle. Pour is an orange-brown with a hint of red and a medium white head with heavy lacing. Sweet, very strong grapefruit hop aroma with a bit of piney resin. Flavor is extremely hoppy (of course) - flowery, grassy flavor up front giving way to grapefruit (and other) citrus and finishing with woody notes. A fantastic brew.

Bottle from BevMo. Light amber in color. Nose is sweet. Good hop presence is noticable. Very hoppy. Crisp and clean hop character with a little sweetness to take off the edge. No alcohol at all. Dangerously easy to drink.

This is a tasty beverage. It abandons the standard SN "hop profile" as they say. Nice. Pours hazy amber with a small offwhite head that leaves spider web lace. Smells big and dripping resiny and citrusy hoppy. Tastes good. Huge resiny and citrus hop flavors. Some of the floral notes mentioned in the commercial description as well. Big bitterness that lingers and lingers. I like this brew. Nice, full body with good carbonation.

Clear gold colored body with a tall off-white head. Flowery citrus hop aroma. A bit on the sweet side, yet the hops are there. Decent body.
