A group of hop-heads and publicans challenged our Beer Camp (#19) brewers to push the extremes of whole-cone hop brewing. The result is this: a 100 IBU, whole-cone hurricane of flavor. Simply put- Hoptimum: the biggest whole-cone IPA we have ever produced. Aggressively hopped, dry-hopped and torpedoed with our exclusive new hop varieties for ultra-intense flavors and aromas.

Hops, hops and more hops are the stars of this big, whole-cone Imperial IPA. Resinous ‘new-school’ and exclusive hop varieties carry the bold and aromatic nose. The flavor follows the aroma with layers of aggressive hoppiness, featuring notes of grapefruit rind, rose, lilac, cedar and tropical fruit – all culminating in a dry and lasting finish.

Amazing aroma, best ever. Pop the top and instantly the kitchen fills with the smell of fresh hops. Pours orange brown with an unending lace. Flavor is strong citrus hops with a very sweet and mellow background, great brew.

Bottle split with my brother. I tried this one at GABF and remember liking it, so let’s give it a whirl with a larger sample. Clear amber/copper pour with a huge off-white head. Spicy and grassy hop nose with some citrus and maltiness. Spicy hop flavor up front with hints of citrus and malt before a bitter grassy finish.

Very Decent, but dissappointing. Tasted alot like bigfoot with some hops tossed in. I expected a strong grapefruit nose, which was missing. Poured a nice head wich dissappaited rather quickly. Lacing was pretty good though. Carbonation was good. Tase had some strong alcohol presence, but at over 10% ABV it’s not surprising. I found two places that still had it in stock, even the brewery was out. One place we call the Dome Store that had it for 2.99 and another at a convenience store that took years to open, but they wanted 10 bucks. So either one place was gouching or the other didn’t know what they had. It is defineitly worth the 3 bucks, but 10 dollars it isnn’t.

A - Pours an orange-copper color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades fairly quickly to a nice ring around the glass lacing nicely. S - Lots of citrus hops in the nose. There is also a fine amount of sweet carmel malt that breaks through and balances. T - Starts off with a ton of citrus and piney hop flavor and bitterness. There is also some nice carmel malt flavor that breaks through. Through the middle there is even more bitterness that comes through. The finish has a blend of grassy and citrus hop bitterness and also some carmel flavor. Lingers really nicely. M - Medium to medium-full bodied with moderate tingly carbonation. Very smooth and crisp with a really nice dry finish. Even fairly clean. D - Very drinkable. Very nice hop profile with a lot of taste mixed in. Barely any of the alcohol flavor comes through. Nice amount of malt flavor also in there to balance.

pours a very clear amber honey color with a creamy white head...very nice lacing and retention. aroma has grapefruit with subtle pine as well...slightly bready and a hint of orange blossom. flavor is extremely hoppy...like a hoppy elixir...more spicy than expected...earthy and woody. mouthfeel is resinous yet a bit lively with a very hoppy, dry lingering finish.
