3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a deep brass color with an everlasting foamy off white head. The head thins but stays present and laces moderately well. Tiny, tiny bubbles sail from the bottom to the top.of the glass without ever stopping. The aroma is very floral; I detect lavender and jasmine. The taste is hoppy , citrusy, and a bit soapy. There’s enough malt to prop up the flavors. Hops linger long on the palate. There’s a lot of hype over this beer and I would say that itmostly lives up. I would have likes a little more malt and a slippery mouthfeel to make it even better.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the Map Room Chicago. Pours a very dark ruby brown color with a small off white head. Aroma is aggressively hoppy with mostly pine and earthy herbal notes. A little bit of citric and even less sweet caramel maltiness. Flavor starts with a very aggressive piney hoppiness that is there from start to an extremely bitter finish. Again so herbal floral notes but man, this thing is so bitter I had to take a break to drink another beer and come back to it. Medium to medium full body and a sharper carbonation. Nice hop character but damn, the bitterness is a bit overwhelming, killing the opportunity for a unique complexity.

Awesome, probably the best beer I have ever had from this brewer. I hope this brew or something like it makes the regular production schedule

24 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a clear amber color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is pine and resin hops. Flavor is much of the same with the addition of some lightly sweetened malt. Slight astringent finish. Medium body. A very good beer.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz. bottle from Fireworks. The nose is minty with a bit of pine. The light resinous taste keeps the alcohol surprisingly well hidden. Medium to light body with a lingering bitter finish. A bit warming on the way down. This was the IIPA hit for this year in my mind. Way better than Hopslam or any of the other big names were. If they can do this one consistently I am definitely on board.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour deep orange with finger thick white head decent lacing. Aroma skunky with mint, honey, and citrus hops. Taste here comes the hops. Big citrus floral and grassy hops, with a subtle nudge of malt caramel and honey. Palate very bitter medium to full body with a very fine prickly carb ab well hidden. Overall tasty smash in the face of hops.
