COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A group of hop-heads and publicans challenged our Beer Camp (#19) brewers to push the extremes of whole-cone hop brewing. The result is this: a 100 IBU, whole-cone hurricane of flavor. Simply put- Hoptimum: the biggest whole-cone IPA we have ever produced. Aggressively hopped, dry-hopped and torpedoed with our exclusive new hop varieties for ultra-intense flavors and aromas.

Hops, hops and more hops are the stars of this big, whole-cone Imperial IPA. Resinous ‘new-school’ and exclusive hop varieties carry the bold and aromatic nose. The flavor follows the aroma with layers of aggressive hoppiness, featuring notes of grapefruit rind, rose, lilac, cedar and tropical fruit – all culminating in a dry and lasting finish.

Bottle. Dark golden color. Nice aroma of strong hops, sharp citrus and malt. Taste is heavy, with a nice balance of citrus and caramelised malt, some pine and a nice subtle booziness. Good stuff.

Pours a dark orange with little to no foam. Extremely hoppy and tasty. Really smooth for the high abv.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber with off white head. Aroma is pine, floral and biscuits. Taste is moderate to heavily bitter with a mild to moderate sweet malt backbone. Lot of pine resin. Some floral and earthy notes too with a little caramel. Just a hint of citrus. Big time bitter IPA. Very tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Humlen dominerar.

When opened the room fills with hop aroma... Cool Nice honey color.. But taste is where this one excels, more pine raisin than tropical fruits, not really bitter, more full and some sweetness sneaking in, tropical fruits in the aftertaste, smooth feel and wonderfull lingering hints of fruit and fresh cut pine logs.. Like this one.. A lot.. Extreme hops yet balanced For extreme hops it can’t get much better,

12 oz bottle to tulip. Pours clear gold orange, white frothy head. Aroma of pine, candied citrus and booze at warmer temps. Taste is the same with some berries, floral and trop fruit. Booze in finish, but pretty smooth and hoppy delicious for 10.4 abv.

Gylden brun klar med fingerhøyt beige skum. Lukter masse humle, plommer, fersken og noe karamell. Middels fylde. Kraftig humlebitter, druesten og sitrusskall. Bitterheten øker på og er på topp rett etter svelging.

2014 bottle from plonk. Hop resin, alcohol sweetness , bursting with that characteristic Sierra Nevada hop blend. spot on imperial IPA.

Bottle pour at home in a snifter. Pours a deep orange-amber with very little head. Some lacing. Aroma is light fruits, some citrus, cereal grains, hay. Taste is hefty malts with big grain bill, backbone of citrus and fruity hops, boozy, and slight sweet finish. Medium body, modest carb. Well balanced. Nicely done.

Big resinous aroma. Murky with small head, well balanced taste with biting bitterness. Good ipa but there are way better examples out there.
