A group of hop-heads and publicans challenged our Beer Camp (#19) brewers to push the extremes of whole-cone hop brewing. The result is this: a 100 IBU, whole-cone hurricane of flavor. Simply put- Hoptimum: the biggest whole-cone IPA we have ever produced. Aggressively hopped, dry-hopped and torpedoed with our exclusive new hop varieties for ultra-intense flavors and aromas.

Hops, hops and more hops are the stars of this big, whole-cone Imperial IPA. Resinous ‘new-school’ and exclusive hop varieties carry the bold and aromatic nose. The flavor follows the aroma with layers of aggressive hoppiness, featuring notes of grapefruit rind, rose, lilac, cedar and tropical fruit – all culminating in a dry and lasting finish.

Bottle from Bradleys. Clear amber pour with little head. Citrus hop aroma with pine and grass. Really bitter pine that lasts and lasts. Not toomuch malt for the style. Nice.

Wow, this is one heavyweight Double IPA. Very calm head and huge floral aroma. Dense and syrupy on the palate. Not as astringent as say Torpedo IPA but it is much more bitter. The malts help with the complexity. I get caramel with fruity esters. Then a huge piney resiny hops blast....lingers on. Splendid.

Pours a deep amber. Rich, concentrated hop aroma. Funky, but almost bad funky. Very silky mouthfeel. You can tell its high gravity but doesn't have the hot boozy bite I was expecting. A decent beer but not all that well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big aroma of cedar, and pine hops with some hops that are more earthy and muddled. Malt presence is clearly in the background and it has a hint of pineapple as well. Excellent aroma. Looks very pretty with a slightly crimson hue with a big tuft of plain white bubbles. Tastes piney, more malty than I expected with virtually no bitterness except for the aftertaste. Excellent palate, silky smooth, one of the best I have ever found in an IPA. If you have not tried this beer, you must buy it immediately. I could drink this again and again.

Bottle, 355ml. A clear amber beer with a medium size white foamy head. Aroma is of hops, pine resin and floral notes. Taste is bitter with a strong hoppy finish. Medium bodied with some carbonation. Somewhat dry and astrigent. Floral aftertaste and well-balanced.

Bottle, 355ml. Clear golden/amber with a beautiful frothy/creamy offwhite head. Aromas of floral hops, tropical fruits, caramel, resin. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and creamy. Medium sweet with heavy bitterness. Absolutely delicous malt and hoppy character into an astringent bitter finish. Stunning IPA.

Hazy copper with white head. Spicy, citrus and tea leaf. Thick, earthy, sweet and dank green finish. Overall: nice! Old bottle...

Pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some bready maltsy tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste. This is one hoppy sumbitch.
