A group of hop-heads and publicans challenged our Beer Camp (#19) brewers to push the extremes of whole-cone hop brewing. The result is this: a 100 IBU, whole-cone hurricane of flavor. Simply put- Hoptimum: the biggest whole-cone IPA we have ever produced. Aggressively hopped, dry-hopped and torpedoed with our exclusive new hop varieties for ultra-intense flavors and aromas.

Hops, hops and more hops are the stars of this big, whole-cone Imperial IPA. Resinous ‘new-school’ and exclusive hop varieties carry the bold and aromatic nose. The flavor follows the aroma with layers of aggressive hoppiness, featuring notes of grapefruit rind, rose, lilac, cedar and tropical fruit – all culminating in a dry and lasting finish.

Hop head heaven. A floral and sweet smell in the glass. Rises like a green hill. Leads you to a wonder of citrus, pine and sweetness before a wave of smooth but tangy goodness rolls down throat. 2.9std drinks, 10.4%. 12oz. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a nice pale red, with a small head. Aroma is incredible with tons of citrus, flowers, bread, gooseberries, rosepetals and slight peach. Flavor is enormous and hoppy, but not overpowering, wierdly enough. I was expecting a punch in the face, but i get more of a balanced, hoppy beer. Flavors are of grapefruits, citrus, caramel, pine and resin with a hefty bitterness. One of the better Imperial IPA’s i’ve tasted in terms to balance.

Flaska från SB. Klar bärnsten med vitt skum. Doftar av grape, tropiskt men också lite spritigt. Smakar detsamma, alkoholen slår igenom på ett dåligt sätt tyvärr. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355mL bottle Bottled 07/08/14 Clear, viscous golden body with a dense rocky white head. Tangy hop aroma; bitter orange, grapefruit rind, sticky hop resin, pine needle, floral/grassy notes with backbone of caramelly, toasty malt. Texture is slick, oily, somewhat syrupy with a moderate carbonation and fair amount of weight about it. Seriously sticky resiny hop character - almost like drinking sap. An all-encompassing bitterness underpins the whole palate with notes of green pine needles, grapefruit skin, orange oil, green tropical fruits, woody spice. A good measure of toasty pale malt is there, but it hardly makes a dent in the onslaught of hops! Warming finish, lingering woody sappiness - keeps going, and going! Full on, intense IIPA - what you’d come to expect from the style. Aggressive, doesn’t hold back. Couldn’t drink much of it, but damn it’s nice!

Amber with thick head. Meaty and fruity aroma. Oily texture. Full bodied, but the alcohol is well hidden behind fruit, malt and bitterness in good balance.
