4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a rosy red shade of copper. The first sniff is hoppy bliss. The flavour has a distinct caramel, Maris otter type taste which is almost lost completely in all the hops. A very refreshing IIPA, and like any good imperial beer, you can’t taste any obvious alcohol flavour or burning in the throat

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
From the bottle: the color is rich, clear amber, with ample fluffy, cream colored foam, lingering a couple minutes. Pine dominates the aroma, some florals, lemon, biscuits. A solid caramel, honey sweetness stands up well to delicious, citrus twang and bitterness. The carbonation is soft but adequate (that’s what she said). Another Sierra Nevada brew showcasing hops, as they do so well. I would say not as dry as Torpedo. Mouthfeel, however, does tend to thin a bit with warming so don’t nurse it ;)

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2014 Sierra Nevada has really outdone themselves here. By far their "biggest" beer, Hoptimum reminds me of Stone’s Ruination IPA, but this is actually much stronger in flavor. Very resinious and oily. It is best to take small sips because the flavor will stay with you for quite some time. It achieves a dense but complex multitude of fruit-inspired flavors, almost like a Belgian Quadruple for hopheads. Malts are almost undetectable, but who cares. The hops balance themselves out, with the citrus flavors shining through the intense bitterness. A work of art.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Nice clear amber color with a short white head. Looks nice. Fresh citrus aroma. Like smelling fresh cut oranges or grapefruit. The taste is sharp and bitter. Astringent enough to be mouthwatering, clean enough to be crisp and refreshing.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a double IPA...make no mistake about it. It is a seasonal beer too. About $12.00 for a 4 pack of 12 ounce bottles.
ABV is 10.4%..so it has some kick to it. Looks and smells fantastic. Very hoppy but not too much so. Seems Sierra Nevada has found a nice sweet spot for a double IPA with a high alcohol content. A sweet and bitter balance. I was quite impressed since I am a big fam of IPA’s and double IPA’s. Try it and you will be impressed too. Thumbs up!!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a deep orange with a finger and a half of cream colored head. The nose is fruity sweet and fresh with hops. Some malt in the background as well. The taste has the malt up front, with some tip of the tongue sweetness following. The deep hop kick cleans it all up. Finishes a bit chewy with some thick body. A little pricey, I prefer DFH 90 for a DIPA, but it's good to switch things up, and this is a good beer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz bottle...One of the finest DIPA’s to date. Very impressive and complex bill of hops and SN has managed to bring new flavor profiles to this brew - much like a maker of fine wines. Outstanding
