3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I was really excited about this beer it arrived in the stores right before my birthday. So I had the okay to stock up on beer. I feel like my money could of went to something better. I am a Hop Head DIPA = Favorite Style... This beer just isn’t balanced and the hops almost burn your tough with bitterness. Maybe it’s the hops they use
Aroma: I popped open my first one and the smell was fantastic, I was really excited about getting 24 of these guys
Appearance: Looked right up my alley with a dark orange tint with a thin white head
Taste: With Hopslam being my favorite DIPA I was hoping for something great. Boy was I disappointed. Unlike Hopslam, Hopstopid, Dreadnaught act... the balance is just not there
Palate: I gave the palate a high score, because it definitely give your palate all it could ask for
Overall: Very disappointed, and other than the standard Sierra Nevada Pale Ale... I’m not to impressed with what they offer as far as IPA’s go

355ml bottle at The Local Pub, Athens Greece. Orange thick body with a finger of beige creamy head. The aroma is of citrus, caramel, pine, marmelade grape fruit, passion fruit, basically everything you except from a DIPA but even more. Pretty much the same is the taste, everything in the right balance. In The end it leaves a nice oily bitter taste. The exceptional thing here is that you can never tell any hint of the 10.4% alcohol! Probably the best DIPA I’ve tasted, along with HighWater’s Retribution!

Bottled 17FEB12, Reviewed 15MAR12
Pours a crystal gold with a finger of light yellow foam leaving decent lace. Smells of pine, grapefruit, honey, sharp spice and sweet malts come together beautifully. Flavor is hardcore - bitterness is combated with a sweet honey like malt and mid plane hops exercise their pungent and fruity flavors. The alcohol is noticeable, which I don’t recall from the original release and the hops are certainly the main character here. Wowza, hoppy! Medium on light syrup body with a moderately tame carb and a semi dry finish. Great beer, if I were two more beers into the night, I might make the mistake of drinking this one fast and frequently - to much my dismay! 4/4.5/4/3.5/4

A: pours an amber golden. 1/2 finger, egg white head diverts to 1/4 finger within a couple minutes. Sporadic lacing along edges. Head easily agitated to original height with a spritely stir.
S: Pine. Classic SN nose with big gobs of Cascade and Centennial hops on the nose. Hints of spicy simcoe hang out in the background. Not much malt on this one. All hops, all SN.
T: Well balanced, much more balanced than I had anticipated. In fact, the malt makes a wonderfully sweet appearance here in the mouth. The hops make room on the stage as well. Super balanced for and Impy IPA - kudoes to SN, I think Ken took some time on this one.
M: Light, and dry. Lower carbonation help to highlight the flavors of the beer. Rather than applying standard carbonation and body, they seem to have taken time to make sure this one was balanced. Good whipped feel when swished around.
D: I find myself surprised giving this one such high marks. I think this is a great beer, gonna have to grab a couple more of these. Yum! 3/4/4/4/4-3.95

Trevlig öl med en skön beska men tyvärr lite spritig i både doft och smak detta sänker betygen

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, 2013 vintage. Pours dark golden with a finger thick creamy head. Aroma is tropical hops with mango, orange, lychee and bitter pine, as well as a nice malty caramel. Full creamy body with soft carbonation. Flavour is bitter with orange peel and grapefruit, as well as some malt and kandi, and a long bitter finish. First and foremost this beer is all about the abundance of bitterness packed into the small bottle, yet the sublime sweet balance of tropical hops and grainy malts raises it above to the next level.

Nice golden orange color with a white head that leaves lacing. Passion fruit, mango, grape, pine, some pear on the nose. Well balanced by a sweet caramel maltiness. Taste is similar to aroma with an intense long bitterness and good balancing malt character. Mouthfeel is sweet almost sticky with soft carbonation. Excellent.

Fantastica imperial ipa. Sierra Nevada sforna sempre buoni prodotti, e questo conferma la possibilità dei luppoli americani di essere risolutivi anche su prodotti a grado elevato. La luppolatura si apre in molti anche gusti più complessi, anche un leggero fruttato. Veramente valida!
