3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I was really excited about this beer it arrived in the stores right before my birthday. So I had the okay to stock up on beer. I feel like my money could of went to something better. I am a Hop Head DIPA = Favorite Style... This beer just isn’t balanced and the hops almost burn your tough with bitterness. Maybe it’s the hops they use
Aroma: I popped open my first one and the smell was fantastic, I was really excited about getting 24 of these guys
Appearance: Looked right up my alley with a dark orange tint with a thin white head
Taste: With Hopslam being my favorite DIPA I was hoping for something great. Boy was I disappointed. Unlike Hopslam, Hopstopid, Dreadnaught act... the balance is just not there
Palate: I gave the palate a high score, because it definitely give your palate all it could ask for
Overall: Very disappointed, and other than the standard Sierra Nevada Pale Ale... I’m not to impressed with what they offer as far as IPA’s go

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
355 ml bottle from Ottakringer Shop, Vienna., bottled 04/17/14
Dark golden, clear body, with a big, creamy, off-white head.
Aroma of citrus, orange, fllowers, pine, some tropical fruits, lots of candy.
Tastes of grapefruit, flowers, resin, lots of lovely pine notes, some grass, honey and again lots of candy.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes bitter, quite dry, zesty, with resin, sweet malts, slight alcoholic and long-lasting, greatly determined pine notes.
Well, this bottle is very old, more than 9 months. Didn’t see this when I bought it, so I’m a bit pissed right now. That’s why the sweet malts stick out, but the hops are still well recognisable, while by far not in its full glory, I guess. You still get a hint how well balanced and enjoyably piney this is, pretty smooth for this high ABV. Hopefully I’ll be able to rate a fresher bottle some day.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled 6/20/14. Thin amber-gold, medium head that lingers. Smell is deep pine resin, maple sap, bourbon, chocolate liquer. Taste is bittersweet, thick citrus rind, brief caramel note. Dry. I’d love this fresh.

2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled on 07.08.14.
Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip on 09.10.14.
A: Very citrusy. Orange, pineapple, and mango. I could smell it from an arm away while pouring.
A: 4 finger head with an easy pour that is retained well. See through orange body.
T: Pine and tropical fruit dominate. Caramel and spicy pepper are subtle.
P: Smooth and crisp.
O: This has too much malt and spiciness for my taste. It seemed strangely unbalanced for Sierra Nevada. I love West Coast IIPAs, but this didn’t taste much like one.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This b3er has quite a lot of hops. I like a lot of hops, especially in a light beer. This beer is not amazingly light. It is well rounded though. Good job.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2011 vintage bottle; a large (~22oz) bottle not in the Camp Beer series. [from notes].
Pours a crystal clear amber with a towering, sticky, highly durable, frothy off-white head.
Powerful hop aroma with some underlying sweet malts and alcohol esters. Floral, pine and citrus notes in the aroma and the flavor. The taste carries a strong hop hit, partly tamed by the addition of a significant sweet malt component. Long lasting, bitter-sweet hop aftertaste. Tastes like a high gravity beer, but still the high ABV (I’m surprised to see how high) is rather well-hidden.
M - Medium body; good, light-medium carbonation; smooth but with a mild hop/alcohol bite.
O - Near extreme hoppiness without the full bitter accompaniment. Hop nectar for hop heads. An able substitute for Bells Hopslam.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A good wet slap in the face with a hop cone. After playing Florence Nightingale all week to a crook wife, and Nanny McPhee to our junior beerhunters, aged four and six, I was bone-weary and in need of a serious pick-me-up. Wanted to feel something, anything. Hoptimum delivered. First sip was bit ’meh’, but those 100 IBUs creep up on a fellow. I went from ’meh...’ to ’yeah!’ in twenty sips. Rusty orange with some chill haze and a slim head. Aroma: Pinoclean, fruit cordial, mango, blackcurrant. So far, it’s a bit ho-hum. Big, chewy palate - now that’s more like it. Ah yes. Medley of summer fruits, noticeable alcohol and a loooonnngggg resinous finish. Too chewy to be quenching, but I feel twice as sharp. (12 fl oz bottle from Leura Cellars)

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a cloudy copper with an off white head. Decent lacing throughout. There’s a citrus, caramel, pine, and fruit aroma. Sweet start that ended nicely bitter. Flavor’s of pine, caramel, tropical fruit, and floral notes. Medium body that was chewy on the palate. Overall a solid and refreshing DIPA.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
ASPETTO: ambrato splendente.
