COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A group of hop-heads and publicans challenged our Beer Camp (#19) brewers to push the extremes of whole-cone hop brewing. The result is this: a 100 IBU, whole-cone hurricane of flavor. Simply put- Hoptimum: the biggest whole-cone IPA we have ever produced. Aggressively hopped, dry-hopped and torpedoed with our exclusive new hop varieties for ultra-intense flavors and aromas.

Hops, hops and more hops are the stars of this big, whole-cone Imperial IPA. Resinous ‘new-school’ and exclusive hop varieties carry the bold and aromatic nose. The flavor follows the aroma with layers of aggressive hoppiness, featuring notes of grapefruit rind, rose, lilac, cedar and tropical fruit – all culminating in a dry and lasting finish.

Pours a clear yellow, just a tinge of green unless I am imagining it. Nice white foam, leaves behind quite a bit of lacing. Aroma is grassy and hoppy, a hint of citrus fruit. Taste is very bold, sweet and hoppy, more citrus fruit although subdued, and the alcohol quite noticable but not unpleasantly so. Quite bitter on the finish, again in a good way. Great stuff.

2014 bottle from plonk. Hop resin, alcohol sweetness , bursting with that characteristic Sierra Nevada hop blend. spot on imperial IPA.

Bottle pour at home in a snifter. Pours a deep orange-amber with very little head. Some lacing. Aroma is light fruits, some citrus, cereal grains, hay. Taste is hefty malts with big grain bill, backbone of citrus and fruity hops, boozy, and slight sweet finish. Medium body, modest carb. Well balanced. Nicely done.

Big resinous aroma. Murky with small head, well balanced taste with biting bitterness. Good ipa but there are way better examples out there.

På flaska från systembolaget. Bärnstensfärgad. Doft av russin. Smakar starkt spritsigt och sött i en bra blandning.

Big whitish head that klings to the glass. Amber body. mostly citrus and hops on the nose. Bitter taste as one would expect, but not too much. Tastes mostly of citrus, grapefruit and tons of hops. Very nice Imperial IPA.

8/21/15. Bottle brewed in June. Not as much as an aromatic nose as a expected. However hop mouth is huge given the ABV. Resinous and deep. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Systembolaget. A very good Sierra Nevada beer, but still not one of the best Double/Imperial IPAs that I have tried.

Not Much on the nose. Mostly dank and grapefruit peel and orange zest. Can tell from the nose that this should be an overly bitter beer. Full mouthfeel. Quite bitter compared to the fruitiness. Very similar to nose. Quite one sided. Mostly different layers of bitterness. It is a tad disappointing. I had very high hopes.
