COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A group of hop-heads and publicans challenged our Beer Camp (#19) brewers to push the extremes of whole-cone hop brewing. The result is this: a 100 IBU, whole-cone hurricane of flavor. Simply put- Hoptimum: the biggest whole-cone IPA we have ever produced. Aggressively hopped, dry-hopped and torpedoed with our exclusive new hop varieties for ultra-intense flavors and aromas.

Hops, hops and more hops are the stars of this big, whole-cone Imperial IPA. Resinous ‘new-school’ and exclusive hop varieties carry the bold and aromatic nose. The flavor follows the aroma with layers of aggressive hoppiness, featuring notes of grapefruit rind, rose, lilac, cedar and tropical fruit – all culminating in a dry and lasting finish.

Dark brown, tan appearance with a good foaming off-white head. Probably one of the best aromas from a beer I’ve ever experienced. Just the right formula of flower, citrus, earth and hops, wow. Taste is just as good, I’m not sure I can ever give a 10 for a high IBU IPA, but it’s great there too. Nice, thick, mouthfeel, but not overly syrupy. Like I stated, it is fairly bitter and the bitterness does wear on you. This is a great beer, though.

Pours a clear golden brew with a medium white head with poor retention, aroma is moderate to heavy bitter and moderate to heavy sweet with caramel, alcohol, peach and floral hops, full bodied, flavor is moderate to heavy bitter and moderarte to heavy sweet with a bittersweet finish and a long and bitter aftertaste.

Didn’t expect to love this beer but it exceeded my expectations. Smoother than I expected and really really nice grapefruit/pine hops. Pleasantly surprised.

Delightful beverage that brings a nice golden orange color and an almost sweet hoppy taste.

I usually enjoy most Sierra Nevada beers, but Hotimum took a few drinks. All said and done it was really good.

2013. Heavy aroma of caramel and tropical fruits, pours a golden / amber coulour with a smallish head that has good retention, flavours of tropical fruit and citrus with the lingering bitter aftertaste, not over-carbonated but it dances on the tongue, wow an excellent ale

Draft. Pours golden brown with thin white head that lingers. It looks like how a perfect beer should. Mild carbonation with a hop aroma. It's like a slightly less sweet and slightly less boozy dfh120. Hop punch in the mouth with no complexity. On the west coast I'm sure this us a good dipa. In VT, this sits on the store shelves. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a bottle in Catonsville, MD. Very floral aroma, traditional IPA amber orange color. If you are an IPA fan, DRINK THIS anytime you can find it. Would love to find it on tap. This is a splendid resinous, bitter hoppy taste with a very smooth mouth feel. Start to finish and even the lingering aftertaste is gratifying. Best Sierra Nevada product I’ve tasted.

Copper color with a medium head. Mango and tropical fruit aroma. Strong citrus flavor. Lots of tangerine and orange peel. Marmalade kind of sweetness, but solid bitterness. Full bodied. Venturing into Am Barley Wine territory, but delicious.

Cask at GBBF, 2014. Gold pour with a white head. Baked apple, summer fruit and herb aroma. Lots of fruity goodness on the palate. Quite nice.
